Did Wal-Mart sell it to you knowing that it was missing items?
Doubtful. Chances are they got it from their supplier like that.

As for them not taking it back, how do they know that you didn't just
take the items and bring it back claiming they were missing? Not
saying you did, they are just covering their own butts. I get it.

This George Foreman Grill doesn't say "Islam is the Light", does it?

They never purposely sold you an incomplete product.

I learned over the years - especially after the holidays - to open all
boxes and make sure all pieces and items are enclosed before
purchasing it.

Should you have to do this - no. But is it a good idea - yes.
Employees cannot go around making sure all pieces and items are in
their appropriate boxes. Customers are always switching things up.
I imagine someone else opened the box the grill came in because the
one they had did not have the spatula or drip tray. Its like a domino
effect.

You can use it without the drip tray, I cannot find mine sometimes and
have to improvise. I have never used the spatula.


I agree with one response, it sounds like you bought one that had been
returned, and didnt check to make sure everything was in the package,
it can work without it, just a bit annoying.

I suspsect this is the case because Walmart is usually really good
about returning stuff, at least that's what Walmart fans say. They
certainly have more lenient policies than Target.

Perhaps the reason why the grill was $39 was because it was missing
essential items: drip tray and spatula. Was this item on clearance or
were there any stickers saying the item was "as is?"
