Attitude of Victoria Secret Associate with High School Degree

that when you write a letter complaining about the lack of
professionalism of the "high school degreed" associate that it makes
it VERY clear where the problem lies, don't you?

You reap what you sow. If the associate has a rude, unhelpful
disposition, that store will lose more customers than the just the OP.
On the other hand though, if the customer is the one giving the
attitude, the associate might be reluctant to give her best.

You are correct. I should have said "most of you" not everyone....my

I HAVE 2 GRADUATES DEGREES TOO AND I AGREE WITH YOU, WE SHOULD BE
TREATED DIFFERENTLY FOR HAVING DEGREES AFTERALL THESE PEOPLE AT THE
STORES ONLY HAVE HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMAS IF EVEN, THEY SHOULD BE NICE TO
ME BECAUSE IN THIS ECONOMY I SECURE THEIR JOBS. VICTORIAS SECRET HAS
LOST ME AS A CUSTOMER FOREVER AND I WILL GET MY FREE UNDERWEAR FROM A
DIFFERENT STORE.

So, umm, how do YOU know they ONLY have a HS degree? Did they whip it
out and show it to you? I have no love for VS but I dont like to see
people abused no matter where they work.

Just because someone doesn't have "your"education,doesn't mean they
have to bow down at your feet.Also they have those clear plastic bags
to carry stuff around until you're ready to try it on.So I don't blame
the asociate,shes an employee not a slave.

Funny that someone with two graduate degrees cannot even construct a
proper letter.

And you know this associate has a high school diploma (not a degree
only) how? Did you question her?

How do you know that she doesn't have a few other degrees, but cannot
find work? Maybe she's taking this job to pay her bills. You don't
know her from any other person on the street. Way to make an
assumption.

I have to say most of the time, when I'm shopping and an associate
offers to start me a dressing room, they usually do carry my stuff
back to it for me and then I go when I'm ready. And yes, this
includes Victoria's Secret.

NOT ONLY DID IT TAKE FOREVER TO FIND AN ASSOCIATE SHE THEN ASKED IF WE
WANTED A DRESSING ROOM, WE HAD A LOT OF ITEMS TO TRY ON, WE ANSWERED
YES WE WOULD AND ATTEMPTED TO HAND OUR CHOICES OVER TO HER TO PLACE IN
A DRESSING ROOM AS WE WERE NOT FINISHED LOOKING AROUND"

Maybe this is just because I work in retail, but I find this doubly
rude.

1. Assuming the associate would carry your clothes to the dressing
room. Most stores like VS will not do this for customers. If you want
somebody to schlep your clothes around for you, shop at Nordstrom or
some similar high-end store.

2. I took this to mean you wanted the fitting room held for you until
you had chosen all the items you wanted to try on. Again, most stores
are not going to do this for their customers.

Lastly, I don't see how your 2 degrees and your business are relevant
to this complaint.

Maybe it is just me, but I don't see how a college degree vs. a high
school diploma would make a difference in customer service. I worked
at a retail store when I had 2 college degrees and was working on my
3rd.

Maybe she thought you were finished shopping when she offered you the
dressing room. She shouldn't have to wait on you hand and foot. Was
the store busy? She might not have been able to hold a dressing room
for you if there were a lot of customers in the store.

HER & I. I WONDER HOW MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS YOU HAVE LOST DUE TO THIS
TYPE OF BEHAVIOR."

They didn't lose a customer. You returned to their retail stores
(albeit a different location) and spent your money.

At any rate, you should just call the manager of that store -- I would
have put my stuff down and walked out as well if I had been talked to
in that manner. And I don't have a college degree.

First of all I believe people get a high school diploma in lieu of
degree.

Just the tone of your letter shows how condescending you were towards
the sales person. I believe you expected her to be your personal
shopper by handing you items continously in the dressing room and got
miffed when she refused - which I am sure was due to the amount of
customers since it was the Valentine weekend. (you fail to mention
when this occured).
Was there a reason your 14yr old niece could not stay in ther dressing
room while you got the items?

Also, you kept trying to demean the salesperson while giving accolades
to yourself. This is totally unecessary and only serves to to show
that it was probably not as bad as you state.

Its ok to be proud of what you have accomplished but to use it to try
to tear another down makes you look very foolish.

I'm happy to not have a job, but doubly so that I don't work in
retail. I wonder why...
