The newest commercial with Spongebob and the butt song is so offensive, I will never eat at Burger King again. I cannot believe they are targeting young children with this commercial. Having women shake their butts and then taking out a tape measure and measuring it. And the guy sitting on the couch with two women at the end saying something about the "booty". Does Burger King have no moral compass?

This commercial is the most vile of any commercial targeting young
children! The guy on the couch with the two women shows just how low
burger king has gone! I will never eat there again and I will be
making sure I tell everyone I know to boycott the morally depraved
restaurant! The women shaking their butts and having them measured is
an insult to all women! Way to go burger king! I hope this pushes
you way down in the stock market and eventually out of business for
being so depraved and insulting!

If you think that the Burger King commercial with Sponge Bob is
offensive, have you ever watch the Sponge Bob show. Most of the show
involved nudity, and sexual situations. The show that was just on
showed Patrick nude hugging a pillow that looked like Sponge Bob. Yes
the show is targeted for teenagers. So I don't think you have any
reasons to be mad at Burger King. Posted by S. Price . SO GO KING!

Whoever came up with the whole concept involving that stupid freaky
King needs to be taken out back and beaten with a stick.

Anyone that knows me, I do not offend easily. However...this
commercial? I agree, take it off the air immediately.

I think that commercial would be offensive even if it was for an adult

by Rachael P. Posted Thu April 16, 2009 @ 10:10 PM

I knew it was only a matter of time before there was a complaint about
this commercial. I am not offended and I don't eat a burger king but I
think they should have known that the commercial is barely

Meanwhile that diaper commercial with "the potty dance" is still
running. IS that commercial teaching people to use the potty or to
dance around when they have to go?

by andrea r. Posted Wed April 15, 2009 @ 7:22 PM

The commercial is an outrage. This morning I heard a spokesperson try
to explain how they choose to be edgey in their advertsing. She felt
they weren't pandering to children. The commercial is for happy meals,
for crying out loud. They know precisely what they do when marketing
and targeting, it is too expensive not to. We are being treated like
fools, and we are not. I hope the entire internet joins me in stopping
from going to BK - there are plenty of other places to eat fast food.
BK needs to hire pr and advertising execs who aren't 22 years old, as
they have different observations than the rest of us. Unless that is
their target audience. Then good luck and good riddance.

The new Nintendo DS commercial is mean and distasteful and sends a bad
message, that it is cute to make rude comments to someone about their
appearance by saying how ugly they are. Aren't kids mean enough
without encouragement from toy makers. Shouldn't we be teaching our
children to be compassionate and caring toward others to make our
society better. My 11 year old daughter wants a Nintendo DS for her
birthday, but because of this ad I will be buying her a different
gift. Children at this age are already overconcious of their
appearance because of the onset of puberty, they certainly don't need
any help at being mean to each other.

not like people were dressed inappropriately. It's just silly and

Um, do you even watch SpongeBob? There are tons of butt jokes on that
show. Not such a big deal.

I've seen this commercial once, and it wasn't aired during one of the
shows my kids watch, but actually during South Park! I think its
target audience was adults who might go to Burger King and have kids
who watch SpongeBob. Kids don't know who Sir Mix-a-Lot is, nor would
they remember the "Baby Got Back" song.

The BK commercial I saw during the shows my kids watch was actually
the one where the dad is hitting people with the surfboard while
checking out the toys.

As commercials go, I don't find it so much offensive as horribly
constructed and confusing.

The ad does not focus on either selling the food products or the
Spongebob toys. Instead, we get distracted by dancing idiots with
phonebooks stuffed in their pants.

I watched this commercial a few days ago and thought it to be pretty

Took son and his friend to BK and the SB toy you get is dumb too. A
plastic SB and you just decorate it with stickers. Boring. He was
thrown in a drawer.

by Wolf Posted Sat April 11, 2009 @ 10:13 PM

My son, who is three, LOVES SB and LAUGHS during the ad. The only
thing I don't like about it is every time i see it, I get the stupid
'bay's got back" song stuck in my head. I find it funny and BECAUSE
we say that there is SB toys there, we are MORE likely to go there.
Normally we go there maybe once or twice a YEAR.

There are many, MANY other ads that are a lost worse. Change the
channel or mute the TV when it comes on.

by BellaSera Posted Sat April 11, 2009 @ 8:45 AM

Finally, a complaint about a commercial I've actually seen.

But I don't find it offensive, just stupid.

I was waiting on this one. I can't stand the BURGER KING anyway. He
grosses me out all of his commercials.

About the biggest problem I see is the butt's are retangles not

Who would of ever thunk fast food would come to this.

commerical is a bit funny or is it a bit stupid? going with both!

But guess it worked....were all talking about it!

You say they are targeting children with this commercial - remember
how funny the word "butt" was as a kid?

Guess what?
Chicken Butt!!!

If it's that offensive to you and yours save yourself a cable bill,
discontinue the service and watch your TV shows on Fancast.

You know where? by RedheadwGlasses Fri April 10, 2009 @ 9:36 PM

by RedheadwGlasses Posted Fri April 10, 2009 @ 1:30 PM

You know, other commercials people have complained about, I agreed
with their being in bad taste, or potentially offensive. It's all
just personal preference, of course. I think what got this commercial
on the air is that the song "Baby Got Back" has been around for so
long (17 years!), it's almost passe.

I think Burger King is just trying to get attention, and they found a
way to do it. I googled "Baby Got Back" to find out the year it was
released and the first page of hits was full of links to this
commercial. They're doing SOMETHING right.

Confession: The first time I ever heard this song, it was from
"Friends," when Rachael and Ross sang it to their baby to get her to
go to sleep.

Yes, I am a dinosaur.

by Donno Posted Fri April 10, 2009 @ 10:41 AM

These are butts, not breasts or penises or other private parts. I
don't find it sexually suggestive.

It doesn't seem morally out of whack, but the electic fields here may
be disturbing my sense of direction.
