No Biscuits for Lunch Time Rush at KFC!

I have a half hour for lunch and half of it was spent in your store waiting for my lunch to appear! I went into the KFC, store #Y450077, around 11:15 AM today, May 20, and and there was one man, a customer, in front of me. The cashier was really flirting with this guy and NOT taking his order as fast as she could have. His order took about three minutes.
After I ordered there was about a ten minute wait until the assitant manager came out and told me there weren't any more biscuits left. If I wanted to wait 5 minutes I could or take an extra side or one tortilla. I said no, I would wait.
But 5 minutes turned into TEN minutes. Finally the almighty biscuits were ready. The assistant manager lady thought it all funny that I was angry and was joking about the biscuit shortage with a customer behind me. I told her I didn't think it was funny AT ALL. Tell me please, how can you NOT have biscuits for the lunch time rush?!!!
I want KFC to reprimand this assitant manager lady and send me a gift certificate for $25.00 with a written apology.

KFC is not really renown for their customer service. I once ordered a biscuit and asked for honey for it. The cashier said they didn't have any honey so I told her I wanted to return the biscuit. She then huffed and puffed, walked over to another counter and magically returned with the honey that they didn't have any more of. She was just too lazy to walk over to the other counter and get any. That is what I refer to as a minimum wage employee. An employee like that doesn't deserve to make top dollar because they're lazy and unproductive.

I'd say that at the MOST, you should get some free biscuits or a free side dish. I know how annoying it is to not have time to eat your lunch because wherever you went took too long to make food, but that's the chance you take by leaving your workplace on your lunch break. You could of just as easily brought your own lunch or frozen dinner. I mean I know your place of work has to have a microwave, fridge, and a break room. I guess unless you drive a truck or something.

normally, i don't side with the letter writer. you are an exception. i think you are right to be upset. it angers me to the point of fury when i'm in a hurry and cashiers are yakking with the person ahead of me about nothing. you can be cordial and still move the line along. while she's making that person happy she's ticking off the people behind him. you deserve an apology and the cashier should get a refresher course in "moving the line along while being cordial." you do not deserve a 25 dollar gift certificate. i would give you a free meal, around a six or seven dollar value.

you mean military? defense commissary agency?
if so... yeah. that might be why.
When I was stationed in VA you had to show up to the fast food places at 1030 in order to get through in any reasonable amount of time.
Show up between 1100 and 1230 and you'd be in line at least 20 minutes.

People are never happy- if a worker is rude, customers get mad;however, If a worker has a sense of humor, they still get mad.. I don't get it?
What if someone came and ordered 200 biscuits for their entire family, work crew, or even themselves? Things like this happen, you either suck it up and wait or go elsewhere. It's part of life. You are definitely not entitled to $25, and why should the employee be reprimanded? She did nothing wrong in the first place.

Maybe it's only the KFCs I've been to, but I've never associated them with "fast food." I mean, it's faster than the sit down places, but not McDonald's or another burger joint fast. My average wait time is ten to fifteen minutes if I go there, so I never go for a lunch break.
I think they were trying to provide good service by offering you a free side or a tortilla. I would have probably waited for the biscuits, too, but thanked them graciously for offering.
I would rather the biscuits be hot and fresh than have an old batch.
Aaaand, a three minute order time doesn't sound too bad.

The cashier probably saw you were getting upset and tried to lighten the mood by joking around with you.
She may have used bad judgement but nothing sounds bad enough for her to be reprimanded and have her write out an apology letter much less $25.00
You got your biscuits, you just had to wait another 5 minutes for it, annoying yes, but not a life changing event.
Good Day

sometimes they run out of things.
and your wait for fresh biscuits was all of ten (maybe 15?) minutes.
Even with being upset over waiting three minutes for the person ahead of you to order... that, at the most would be an 18 minute wait.
Personally I don't see how 18 minutes is that long. Sure if you're annoyed and want them doing everything NOW, it might feel like an hour, but it's still barely more than a quarter of an hour.
... maybe it's just me... I have a high level of patience and tolerance on waiting. but to me less than 20 minutes isn't that long. Even in a fast food place.
(hell try waiting over an hour in the chow line on a navy ship)

Sorry, but 11:15 is not the lunch rush....and even if it was the lunch rush, why do you think you deserve a $25.00 gift certificate?

Food runs out... I doubt they wanted to whip up a huge batch at 10:30 or 11 and have them be hard by the time the lunch rush comes around noon. They ran out, so be it. They offered you a tortilla or another side as an alternative, and you declined. Where I work, we serve biscuits, and they do take 5-10 minutes to cook. While an incovenience, I think it was handled well. The fact that she offered you an alternative, and handled it lightheartedly with other customers, I think that was the best way to do it. It sounds like she was trying to put a positive spin on the wait and make the other customer satisfied by making a joke about the shortage.
In this world, restaurants cannot always have what you want ready when you want it. If this were a consistent issue, then I would agree you have a complaint. But restaurants run out of food sometimes. I doubt they will send you your gift card.

It is KFC, which isn't the best at customer service. I think running out of ready-to-serve items is pretty much SOP at most KFC's, so reprimanding the manager doesn't seem appropriate. And when it comes down to it, this wait really isn't all that long. Certainly not long enough to receive any compensation, other than perhaps free biscuits.

They were preparing the biscuits for the lunch rush which starts at noon, not 11:15. Restaurants do run out of things and you were given options but you chose to wait. This certainly does not equate to a $25 gift certificate.
