Delta fails to address my problem!

My best friend worked for British Airways and all that they ever did
in terms of resolution was a voucher for a certain amount. the amount
of the voucher varies by amount of original purchase and only for
tickets purchased directly via ba.com or a registered travel agent. If
the issue has anything to do with tickets that were purchased through
a third party site then they will refer you to them.
It sounds like Delta feels they are making a good will gesture. They
are giving you vouchers for tickets that were purchased from them at
steep discounts and resold to you for less then the ticket via delta
(most likely).
You have two options, take the vouchers, since I doubt that Delta is
going to offer anything else and if you keep pushing it may decide
they don't want you as a passenger (I've seen it happen), or don't
take them and don't fly Delta anymore.
There are lots of airlines to choose from.

I see from your response below that you are sorry you mentioend you
were in the military as that has nothing to do with your complaint.

As others have said, we weren't there so we don't know exactly what
happened....but your issue is with Expedia (which is exactly why I
don't book via third party websites).

I don't understand how you can expect Delta, or any airline, to give
you travel vouchers on any airline you want. It's not that Delta
failed to address your problem - it's that they didn't address it in
the way you wanted.

If this kind of thing were more common (both requests and
capitulation), companies would stop issuing goodwill altogether. Then
we'd feel like we were shopping at WalMart, regardless of what company
we were delaing with.

I am a former military spouse who raised 2 small kids alone during 2
deployments. I know that being a member/spouse to a soldier is hard
but please don't use that as a way to get freebies or special
consideration. Last time I checked, no one has been drafted lately
and soldiers and their families do get compensated though pay,
BAH,insurance,time off,etc. And for the love of God, don't start
whining about how poor soldiers are. No one everyone expects our
military members to be on food stamps. When my ex was in, we were
rolling in it between the pay and all of the benefits. Try surviving
on the outside and you will see how "rich" you are right now.

In your original letter you complained about Expedia as being the
source of your problem. Now you get two $50 vouchers and an apology
from Delta and you are still wanting more. As Nate pointed out that
is pretty good compensation from any airline nowdays.
If you want to continue this then keep contacting Expedia regarding
your original issues.

while I do agree with you that the situation was not at all handled
properly and I am very sorry you had to miss your friend's wedding, I
can't help but feel that your frustration is overriding your ability
to remain rational about this.

Delta at least did SOMETHING when the issue was ultimately with
Expedia. As for your wife's treatment, while they surely could have
been more sensitive, I can imagine tension was running high during
that conversation and tempers may have been running short on both
ends. Not that it is an excuse, but it should be put into
perspective.

And finally, as the sister of an active duty Navy officer currently
stationed in Iraq, I thank you for your service to our country.
However, I am disappointed that you would use that service as leverage
in this situation. You were not traveling on military business and
the situation had nothing to do with your job. Including that bit of
information was not relevant and a bit unfair given the way most
people in this country view the military. Your service is a
sacrifice, but it is also an honor and to use it in this way lessens
the value, IMO.

I hope you can come to some sort of resolution on this situation, be
it from Expedia or Delta.

Rude service is not acceptable, but two $50 vouchers and a form
apology are a pretty nice gesture considering the state of airline
customer service at this point in time.

I don't see why you are owed two free tickets. You were offered a
discount, so take it or leave it. They are not obligated to meet your
every demand for compensation.
