Only one little suggestion

Posted Thu August 6, 2009 10:31 pm, by Alyson P. written to Universal Orlando

Write a Letter to this Company

On August 4th we took our family to Universal Studios Orlando Islands of Adventure. We are Florida residents and we like to take a trip every summer to one of the theme parks.

First, I must say that this was by far our favorite. The park was clean and the staff was friendly. The ride lines moved quickly and even the food was good. My son got to meet Spiderman and I think I was the highlight of his life, what was even a bigger bonus was how nice Spiderman was, he must have talked with my son for about 5 minutes before posing for a picture. He made my 5 year olds day. Overall, my entire family enjoyed themselves.

I only have one suggestion and it would be my only complaint. There are no baby stations at the park. Not one! This really surprised me as I have heard that Univeral Studios Orlando has one of the nicest anyone has ever seen. The littlest member of our family is 6 months old and since I am nursing, little things like baby stations make a huge difference to me. Most theme parks have at least something these days. It is very difficult to feed a baby on a bench and since the park is busy it is very difficult to find an out of the way place. I do not like to make others uncomfortable either and I think that an addition like this would also be nice for your other guests who prefer not to see woman nursing in public.

I noticed there are several new additions being made to the park, and we are eagerly awaiting for the Harry Potter part to open, and can not wait to go back. My day would be perfect if I found a baby station upon my return and I am sure you would find it would be a welcome addition to the park for any mom looking for a quite place out of the sun to feed their baby.

I had asked about by fairywithfangs Fri August 7, 2009 @ 9:16 AM

...I know I have.

They DO keep these things secret at some places. I suppose it's to
keep people out that don't belong there. (Do you really want some
teenagers coming in because they want to use the bathroom or get out
of the heat?)

I was at a local theme park last year and went to the "family" center.
The staff member that was there asked that my 5 year old and I not
come in (it wasn't like there was nursing in the lobby), since they
felt that having extra people hanging out there (while my wife changed
our toddler) would detract from the peace and quiet that some nursing
mothers and babies needed.

Anyway, the Universal staff should have known where it was. It's on
the web site, so they aren't trying to keep it a total secret.

But a secret so much they cant find it? That makes it difficult

What a shame, no wonder so many women are frustrated!

Good Day

cos that means predators would have a hard time getting inside too

and i'm sure many mothers don't mind a bit of peace and quiet trying
to care for a baby

Great letter! I'm really surprised that Universal doesn't have baby
changing stations. You would think that all family theme parks would.
I hope they take your advice and add some of those stations as I'm
sure many moms have encountered the same issue when taking their
family for a day of fun.

That would be a great idea!

Thank you for not wanting to make guests uncomfortable.

I am totally for appropriate places for mothers to nurse.

Glad you enjoyed the park, we were there last year and had a blast

Good Day!
