Terrible Iced Animal Cookies

What happened to the old fashioned Animal Cookies that used to have that tiny bit of hard frosting on the top side only? I purchased a bag of the Nabisco Classics Iced Animal Cookies and was shocked to taste how awful they were. There is way too much frosting on them and the sweetness makes you want to shiver. What's more, Nabisco isn't interested in hearing our comments, because no where on Nabisco's site, or Kraft's site can you email them. They have no contact link and are not interested in hearing consumer comments. The email link when clicked says; "This page no longer exists." That's ashamed when a large company like this makes it difficult for a consumer to comment, or complain on their products. Sounds like they just aren't interested in their consumers. Horrible cookies and I'm angry I spent the money to purchase them. Nabisco should bring back the Animal Cookies from the 1950s - 1960s when they made huge cookies with the most delicious frosting ever. I feel their quality has declined tremendously.
I'd be happy to mail these back to Nabisco if they sent me a postage paid envelope and I would really like the old fashioned large Animal Cookies like when I was a kid.

Yeah! I found some people that remember my favorite cookie of all time growing up! The boxed sugar cookie with the yummy pink icing. I remember the white box with a picture of a birthday cake on it with the animal cookies all around the outside of it and on top. Who made those cookies anyway? I wish someone had a picture of the box so we could see. I have only had one other person remember them!

I fondly remember those cookies like it was yesterday. They were a great part of my childhood, and every so often I ask someone if they remember them. My husband does. I did send an email to Vermont Country Store, as they have re-created alot of recipes from past candies, cookies, etc, and they are making the suggestion. Maybe more emails from people like yourself will convince them.

I remember the big cookies from the 1960's, and they were the best. Mom used them to decorate angel food cake by pressing them into the frosting on the side, and then one in the middle on top to cover up the hole. Only got them on special occasions. They came in an approximate 9"x6" box with a lid that when opened revealed two rows of the animals standing upright. Weren't you disappointed if any were broken? Still tasted great!
Doubt if they're still made, but would like to know who used to provide them.

I remember those from the 70's and maybe they were still around in the 80's too? They were shiny and transparent in places and a bit crumbly, but not so they broke... especially the elephant :) I did the same thing and got the over frosted sprinkle ones some point later, and they WERE terrible! I don't remember the company that made them, seemed like an off brand? This site is really odd, but I think the one at the bottom is it? http://bigcat.fhsu.edu/biology/Eberle/AnimalCookies.html
I also found these, maybe these are close?? http://www.stauffers.net/products/animalcrackers/original?pro_id=5bc8a 1f8-d228-45aa-9924-0fad66a02d48

Nabisco, of course, can be contacted at the 800 number on the package.
But they should also be flexible in how they receive comments, so that the consumer is not felt "put out" by using a feedback mechanism that's uncomfortable to them. Some people prefer e-mail to the phone. Me and you, for example.
And, of course, if they have a link on their website, it should work. I can confirm that clicking on "Help" on NabiscoWorld.com gives you "We're sorry, the page you requested does not exist on this web site."
I did a little techie sleuthing and found that you can get to the comment form using:

Im not much of a cookie eater, but I use to enjoy the circus cookies.
They still come in a pink pouch, and have white, and pink animals with sprinkles on top.
Good Day

There are two different iced animal cookies. I dont know for sure if Nabisco makes both but I have seen both kinds in the stores.
One is like you described. Hard cookie...hard icing. I dont care for those.
The other has a softer icing on and sometimes has little sprinkles on them. I LOVE those cookies! They ARE a lot sweeter. Much more enjoyable.
Maybe you just picked up the wrong kind?

Hi Peggy!
I had to respond to your letter because my mother's name was Peggy, and my father worked for Nabisco many years ago.
I haven't noticed any difference in the Nabisco products I purchase, but there have been more complaints here than usual, so I'm going to assume that Nabisco is headed in the wrong direction. And why bring back "Classics" if they taste nothing like the original. It's foolish to think no one will notice.
I agree that it's a shame when any company makes it difficult for someone to comment or complain. It does make you feel like they're not interested in their customers' opinions. I have written to Nabisco in the past and never received a response. Nabisco was always my first choice, but now I just buy what's on sale. I no longer have any loyalty to the company.
Hopefully, Nabisco will get the message and quickly turn things around before they lose more customers. If they continue to not listen and make it difficult for their customers to give feedback, they'll have no one to blame but themselves for the demise of the company.
Please let us know if you get a response so at least some of my faith in Nabisco can be restored. It's sad to think that this company no longer cares about its customers.
