Assaulted at Domino's
Posted Sun November 1, 2009 12:00 pm, by Chris W. written to Domino's Pizza, Inc.
Write a Letter to this Company
I called in a pizza order to Domino's Pizza tonite. Upon arrival, the employee who was receiving the money for orders began using profanity (speaking to another customer). The young man continued to use profanity, so I felt obligated to step in to bring a halt to the verbal assault that not only I was subject to, but 5 other customers (including an elderly woman). When I confronted the employee, he turned his anger on me, requesting (in no uncertain terms) that I wait for the end of his shift to further discuss this matter. Being a black belt in the art of Jui Jitsu, it was almost like a dream come true...but i quickly gathered myself, and tried to calm the situation down. Yet I am absolutely furious that the manager, who witnessed the whole thing, never lifted a finger to get the situation under control. My my, Domino's should do a better job of hiring & training its employees.
Fire both the employee (Richard) and the Manager (Victor). And offer an official apology to every customer in that restuarant at the time!

You should be assaulted for choosing to eat Domino's Pizza. Gross...
How do companies that make such an awful product continue to get business. Especially with top notch customer service such as this.

I work for Domino's. I encourage you to contact our customer care department at (734) 930-3030 (ask for Customer Care) or send an email to customercare@dominos.com with full details, including where this happened. So sorry you had to experience this.

hmmm.
well first I'll say the negative stuff.
as a black belt it should NEVER be a dream come true to get into a fight. but you did the right thing in not engaging him in that aspect.
As for the employee's behavior...
You were not wrong in requesting the nasty language be ended however, since it's a business and not a podium for that employee to rant and swear.
And at that point... Heck, can't hurt to call the police and say that "There's an employee here at Dominos who's screaming up a storm of swear words and now he's threatening customers."
The manager might not like it, but he cannot stop you from calling the non-emergency police number to file a complaint. In fact, in some areas... although swearing itself isn't a direct violation, disturbing the peace is.

I agree, sometimes its best to call the police.
It may not get the testerone flowing like a good black belt match, but it is more effective.
Good Day

I think calling the police would have been the best thing to do in this situation.
I imagine that black belts want to show off their stuff, but I think the LW was kidding about the dream come true. I laughed when I read that part.

It never hurts to alert the police via a non emergency number. That is what they are there for, to protect and serve the community!
Also, it takes a strong person to voice their concerns about issues that are not immediately threatening, but are offensive. So many people sit there silently and then fume all the way home. Its great of you to speak up and I'm sorry no one responded positively.
Glad you didn't use your "skills" on the employee. Goodness.

It was in the news paper twice recently: A guy in the midwest (Nebraska? the Dakotas?") recently got arrested for swearing at a cop. It was its own charge in addition to the "disorderly conduct" type charge.
