There is a market for plus sizes, as long as they are not dowdy. Next time you are in a store, look for the "ugly" clothes, they will be the plus sizes. The only place I have found that not to be true is at Meijers. I had a hard time finding the plus sizes there because they looked just like the other clothes and they are priced like them too. They have a lot in stock and appear to do a good business with them. I know they get a lot of my money. Since they also sell groceries, its a one stop shop for me and adds to their profits. I tell all my friends about them so they get good word of mouth too.

Try another vendor...like the MCR site... they sell women's jersey's. Not sure if this is what you are looking for but they do have women's sizes up to X-Large.
Maybe you can find out from them if you can find the colors and styles you are looking for.

There has to be a market for the product before they will make it. Who knows what the threshold is for FOX to determine the need. Certainly more than 1 person. A couple thousand people, maybe?
I'm guessing there is simply not a market out there-Fox's competition does not carry anything in that size either-Thor, Answer, Shift, Oneal etc. I only know this because my GF is the same size as you-and she ended up buying men's as well. We did find a brand (fly I think) that said their sizes run really large and to order 2 sizes down-and they went up to a 14. She did not want to go that route-and chance it-but you may want to try it.

I think it was the words "riding gear" that gave me that impression.

despite all the size negative 0 models on every magazine, i think it's about time that companies open their eyes.
it's not even about weight or the consequences of being overweight, etc. because i know PLENTY of women that are size 14/16 who look beautiful and proportioned.
fox isn't the only one with the issue..there are several stores that don't offer larger sizes for women. it's absurd. i could see it being unreasonable if you were requesting that they carry a big selection of size 52 or something...but 14/16 is perfectly NORMAL according to the statistics.
maybe the people who make the decisions don't have mothers or grandmothers or wives who had children.

I completely agree with you. Much of the cycle gear I find for women only come in smaller sizes (I'm a 12/14 with curves - it sucks).
I'd suggest looking for a womens' only motorcycle gear shop. They usually have a wider array of options and are able to special order gear. I found one near where I live and got boots special ordered.
Good luck!

am i right in assuming this is bike riding?
was thinking, that if it is, there might be a woman's league around that could have advice on what companies they purchase their gear from?
good luck =)

Does Fox make the clothes or are they the distributor?
Perhaps there is not a market for size 16 riding gear?
Good Day
