For a Good Time, call 976-Dell

I'm furious with my most recent Dell experience, and vow that neither I , nor my company, will ever do business with Dell again.

I called this morning to check on an order for a home PC placed on Dec 24, 2009. Obviously, it's been 3 weeks since the order was placed and that seemed like a long time. I called extension, he was with another customer, so a female representative picked up. She apologized and said that the order would not ship until Jan 20th. She said she would transfer me to the "notify" department and they would assist me further.

Instead of transferring me to the 'notify' department, she transferred me to a sex chat line called 'Intimate Encounters", promising 'nasty girl-on-girl sex", etc. I called back immediately and the same girl picked up extension. I told her what happened and she laughed hysterically.

I was disconnected on the next transfer. The next attempt was answered by a woman who told me this would not ship until Jan 27th. I then called back to cancel the order. The blatent disregard for customer service, as well as the light hearted approach to transferring me to a sex chat line tells me that Dell just doesn't care. And these days, there are plenty of other companies that do care, and that do want my money. I'll take my money elsewhere, and tell as many friends and coworkers as possible about my recent experience with your company.

In my opinion, Dell desperately needs to improve customer service, stop transferring customers to sex chat lines, and realize that there are plenty of companies out there who want and need my business.

Regards,

Steven D

If I had an employee who did that, I'd fire him/her, regardless of the
nature of the phone number that was involved.

Creating a "buzz" by Donno Thu January 14, 2010 @ 2:29 PM

I can see Kramer suggesting to Jerry and Geroge that Dell is trying to
create a "buzz" by conducting such a customer service campaign on
purpose.

it was a sex line or was it still the Dell Customer Service Rep
offering some of the best customer service ever?

what the dante's imagination?

now that's one i've never heard before.

i just hope the xxx call doesn't end up on your bill - that would be
like adding insult to injury if that happened.

oy.

hope you get a response from them - well a non xxx-line response that
is.

When something like this happens, who pays for the call? I mean, sex
chat lines aren't cheap (not that I'd know personally or anything).
I'm thinking that if it was on Dell's dime, what better way to get
back at them than make them for pay for hours of sex chats?

Yes, I'm evil.

If I had any interest in continuing to do business with Dell, which I
do NOT, I would find this an improvement over the customer service I
experienced with them. At least I could get something out of a sex
chat.

Dell has always been horendous at customer service. So no big whop
there. And transferring you to a sex line, while its a bad mistake is
just that a mistake, and at that point it probably is just the
situation to laugh off.
