Write a Letter to this Company
I wanted to inform you of my recent experience with your company...
My car was hit on Dec 23 2009 by a delivery truck and we involved our insurance company(you)it took 2 wks to get an adjuster out to look at our car which we had a rental car set up through you then we took our car into the auto body shop and there was more damage than the adjuster had listed so the car took longer than expected and then the worst thing happened to us we lost our baby and while I was in the hospital having surgery we hit our rental limit and NO ONE bothered to call us and tell us instead they started charging our credit card so I call your office and even though it took you 2 WEEKS for your adjuster to come out and you FAILED to inform us that we had capped out our rental insurance we paid the price! It is good to know that in a crisis that we can depend on you to fail us! It was the other drivers fault and they were paying for everything the only reason that you were involved was to look after our interest and you failed in so many ways! My husband and his family have been with you for years so they are all shocked and I can guaranty you WILL be losing us ALL after this!
I just want the public to know what kind of company this is so they will not make the same mistake we did by chosing to be insured by them.

In most cases your insurance company can go after the other persons insurance company to resolve this. The question is are you working with your insurance to resolve this? I am guessing like others then that the delivery truck had no insurance and that USAA will be suing the delivery company on this. Now we realize your in a crisis but if the adjuster failed to show for 2 weeks then you would have called to find out why. Secondly the adjuster is usually required to tell you where to take the vehicle for servicing, and would work directly with them to resolve any changes. I agree that they needed your permission to charge your credit card, that is wrong. How about getting credit card company to dispute the charges? Then USAA should also compensate you for any fees and late charges incurred as a result. Agree that things like this are way sressful, but hopefully persistence will pay off. Best of luck in this.

Whose insurance did you file under?
If it was not your fault, why would you file under your own insurance.
