Overcharges and High pressure selling

Posted Mon April 5, 2010 9:37 pm, by Joseph S. written to Oil Can Henry's

Write a Letter to this Company

I use Oil can Henry's for regular oil changes on both of our cars. We have always used Castrol GTX 5w30 for our oil to be used. On the last visit I when I got home I noticed on the bill that they had used synthetic blend Castrol and charged an extra 12.00. I called them and they insisted that they were correct. I have my records and they were NOT correct. They also continually overpressure you to purchase things that you do not need and if you did you would have Honda dealer install them. (I.E. Transmission flush) On one occasion I was charged 24.00 for an Air filter that Schucks sells for 8.50.

Stop high pressure selling,ESPECIALLY on women, and be sure that the customer agrees to the type of oil that they are using, Before they install it.

dont want to go through all that, or just cant.

I changed the oil once on my mothers-in-laws SUV and I will never do
it again. We had to remove so many "guards" before I could even see
the oil filter. Then underneath you need to remove one piece that is
directly below the oil plug, if I didnt I think the oil would have
gone all over the place.

If I didnt write down exactly where each of the guards came off of I
never would have gotten it back in place. not to mention if you dont
have the right wrench you are not getting these off to start with.

I guess you need to ask yourself how valuable your time is? It took
us about 3 hours to change the oil. I could have easily brought it to
the oil change place right near me, spent $24.00 taken it home in 20
min (they would have known where the filter as, and what to remove)
and then spent the next few hours working on my wifes "list".

It may take some time, yes, but what is your time worth? Time meaning,
time to get it fixed after some schuck screwed up your car, so much
for convenience!

I've read many stories on here about schmucks at Walmart, jiffy lube,
you name it, that forget to put in oil, leave tools under the hood
damaging the car, forgetting this, forgetting that, stripping the oil
pan plug, damaging the car, getting grease in the car, etc etc etc.

This is what happens when you have schmucks work on your car

Your car, in most cases, is peoples 2nd most valuable asset (if its
paid for of course, but thats a differnt story) and to take to some
kid in overalls is too risky for me.

Good Day

This may be a radical but effective concept....Change your own oil.

This will alleviate all of this.

If they are claiming they didnt put Synthetic oil in your car, and you
a receipt showing they charged you for it, bring it back and get your
$12.00 back.

Oil change places are huge into pressuring everyone into things. Find
a good place that treats you right and keep giving you them your
business.
