"New and Improved" Frappuccino--Not According to My Taste Buds!

I have been a loyal Starbucks customer for almost ten years now. I always order a frappuccino before work and sometimes I also come back in the evening for a smaller size (all the employees know me at multiple locations and know my order by heart and my boyfriend and I always joked about having Starbucks coffee served at our wedding!).
I was very upset that you changed the formula for the frappuccino--even though it gives the customer more options, the taste is horrible! I have talked to friends of mine and read reviews online and it appears that I am not the only one who feels this way. I love frappuccinos and am very sad to see this drink completely re-vamped (and not in a good way). No other companies have anything similar to the frappuccinos you used to serve and although I will be saving close to $200 a month on coffee, I would gladly spend the money if my drink had not been changed!
Please reconsider this decision...I'm sure you have done market tests and such, but I honestly cannot believe that anyone would prefer the new formula over the old one. I cannot say I will be back as long as this "new and improved" frappuccino is being sold.
Sadly,
A former Starbucks addict

I also noticed a difference in my recent frapps. More "milky" and not much coffee taste. I was not impressed. I asked one of my regular barristas about the change, and she said that in order to accomodate soy drinkers and have more options, the frapp base that was once one component is now made by using a coffee base and then adding your choice of dairy. She said all I needed to do was ask for more coffee base. I haven't tried it yet, but thought I'd pass it along anyway. She even said that if I came in when I had a few minutes to spare, they'd tinker with the formula until they knew just how I liked it and could tell me how to order in the future. Don't know if I want to be THAT big a pain, but will def. ask for more coffee base in the future and see how that goes!!

now are you referring to the canned & bottled Frappucino or one that they make for you right there?
cos i'm thinking maybe you can ask if they can make it the old way if they're making it fresh?
or if there's something similar to it?

I am not a coffee drinker, but as a treat I get a mocha at the Alterra in Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa, WI, a suburb of Milwaukee. I live an hour away from any Alterra, so this is indeed a treat for me. BellaSera knows the location I speak of.
However, my daughter and my friend are so familiar with Starbucks that they won't bother to try to find an equivalent beverage at this superior coffee kiosk. Of course, in my daughter's defense, there's always a line behind us; she doesn't want to hold up a line.
If you could tell us what was IN the original, and what's now in the revamp, it could help all coffee drinkers to make informed decisions.

Sounds like an expensive habit.
Think of the money you saved investing your coffee money into a ROTH IRA
You would be millionares at retirement, quite possible sooner.
Hope the coffee is worth it.
Good Day

That is quite a savings, close to $2400 a year.
