Complaint
Posted Wed April 21, 2010 1:40 pm, by John H. written to Times Square Cinema
Please treat this letter as a formal complaint against Times Square Cinema regarding the attitude of the box-office cashiers and their actions toward customers.
When my wife and I came to purchase tickets for Alice In Wonderland in 3D we were under the impression that it could possibly be sold out. In fact, when we arrived for the 7:00 p.m. showing there was a sign on the box-office window that read “5:30 Alice SOLD OUT”. I asked the girl at the window if there were and tickets available for the 7:00 showing. She sighed audibly and checked the computer for availability. She then very sarcastically told us that “there are 153 spots available” as if we had asked for them all. A simple “yes” would have been fine.
I then proceeded to hand her a gift certificate for two free movie tickets that we had been given. When I did she replied with “Oh, we can’t take those for 3D movies” so I showed her the fine print that explained that Times Square would honor the certificate for 3D movies but there will be a small added charge for the 3D glasses. At this, she replied rudely “Well that will be four dollars”. Obviously there was either some miscommunication regarding the rules of the gift certificates or she did not want to deal with us.
Unfortunately I did not get her name, but it was one of the only times in my life that a customer service employee has been overtly rude to me. I request that you look into the matter so my wife and I will not be deterred from future visits to Times Square Cinema.
Receive my letter and address it with their customer service staff.
