 New Seller Listing Requirement of Automatic Fee payment Enabled to List Item

As a long time satisfied ebay customer, I tried to list an item for sale. They have a new policy that sellers cannot list without automatic fee payment enabled. I have always paid my invoice immediately when billed by them. I never enable automatic payments with anyone, anywhere period. Bad business!
Do not punish those that pay when invoiced with those that do not. Change this new policy to include only those that have a late payment history.
Also, provide real people to speak with on the phone instead of live chat with an agent.

i figured the autopay was put in place to help prevent people from
pulling a fast one ...
like receiving the item and then refusing to pay for it ... or mailing
a bad check while the item is in transit
this way the seller can get the money directly - and yes through
ebay's system vs outside the system.

Why is it bad business? if you want to use their service you pay for
it.
When you buy a soda do you pay for it only after you finish?

Ebay is archaic, people use craigslist now.

I usually like to pay after being billed, but in the case of Ebay, I
must have enabled automatic payments years ago - I can't remember
doing it.
Do you have a good reason to not autopay? Maybe you don't use a
credit card, and you have to make sure your checking account balance
is sufficient.
I doubt they will change the policy, but there is no problem in
asking.
