BAD RETURN POLICY & CHEAP CLOTHES

Posted Fri September 10, 2010 12:20 pm, by Lynn L. written to Spiegel Catalog Company

Write a Letter to this Company

It takes Spiegel forever to fulfill an order . The last one showed up late ( usual ) . Then I am penalized with a store credit rather than a refund to my credit card for the cheap ill-fitting clothes you sent. YOU USED TO HAVE A MORE LIBERAL RETURN POLICY & NOW I KNOW WHY YOU CHANGED IT BECAUSE I'M SURE EVERYONE RETURNS THEIR PURCHASES. In the past Spiegel was a good company with quality clothing. Your clothes are now nothing more than cheap *&^%$#@! ..I don't know why I gave you another chance with my recent order..Do not ever send me another catalog or email.

Issue a refund to my credit for the cheap excuse for clothing that was sent to me . Stop sending me catalogs . There is NOTHING OF QUALITY AT YOUR STORE ANYMORE. Things have certainly changed for the worse with Spiegel.

There are far better e-tailers you can shop with that have more
liberal
return policies, many up to 1 year.
And when you're used to a policy , no normal person would check it
each time they shopped to see if it changed.
Sad that this company doesn't respect it's customers.
Yes, I too remember when they were a good company-but I don't shop
here either for precisely the reasons you mentioned.
Good luck getting your money back from Spiegel !

Spiegel's has an actual STORE??? I thought they were strictly a
cataog operation.

How are you supposed to use that if there isn't a store near you??

"Returns and Exchanges
If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply return
the item(s) in their original condition for a prompt exchange or
refund. Merchandise returned after 30 days will receive a merchandise
credit to apply to future purchases. Items must be unworn with tags
attached (swimwear must have sanitary liner attached). Complete the
Return Form and enclose it with your return or exchange. Allow up to
30 days for us to receive and process your return. Adjustments to
credit cards should appear within two billing cycles."

This policy seems pretty clear. If you were offered only store
credit, your return must not have fit within the 30-day window.

The website also includes size charts. I know that different
manufacturers all have different measurements for, say, a size 8. So
for many brands, a woman may wear a size 8, but may need a 6 for some
items and a 10 or even 12 for others. Did you compare your
measurements with the charts?

Since you appear to be stuck with a store credit, might you choose
something from the "gift" or "travel" or "accessories" departments?
The holiday season is coming up. Even if you spend more than you'd
like on someone's gift, you'll be able to use the store credit and be
done with Spiegel forever.

So it's their fault that you bought clothes that don't fit you? This
is why I never buy clothing online.
