AMEX NEEDS TO MAKE RIGHT

Posted Mon September 27, 2010 4:57 am, by JOSE MARIO A. written to American Express Credit Cards

Write a Letter to this Company  |  Rate this Company

After having 3 AMEX cards, I decided none of them suited me how I had first thought. I thus cancelled them, and waited 3 months and applied for 2 different cards, back up, the other 3 I NEVER WAS LATE, NEVER ABOVE 5% UTILIZATION, ALWAYS A GOOD CUSTOMER, FICO 740 and higher. Then new Accounts gives me a run around, and manager states I APPLIED FOR 8-10 CARDS! I deff have a choice of cards, and AMEX is bleeding from what I read, I am the prime customer they want, I just found out someone with a like name and SSN had applied for those cards and was linked to me because of there outdated proprietary system. I only for your sake hope you can train your "Account Services Dept" "New Accounts Department" etc. HOW TO TREAT GOOD PAYING CUSTOMERS! I think though finally spoke with a nice gentleman named Arnold, he would process it Monday, I am thinking the Citi-Chairman is much more attractive. At this point unless I get a response I will cancel the "in process" cards and kindly ask you remove the inqs. as the gentlemen I spoke with said that would be "absolutely no problem" Shame on you!

Jose Sr.
President/CEO Aragon Holdings LLC
San Antonio, TX

At this point make the situation right, no mishaps credit restrictions, as I have VERIFIABLE INCOME IN EXCESS OF 1Million, and spotless credit. If they can approve with DECENT limits my Clear Application and Platinum Card I will reconsider. Until then Citi Chairman is looking better and better, I also have a FMA account at SmithBarney Morgan Stanley and heard i CAN Get the annual fee waived on the chairman card. So ball is in your court AMEX. I am prepared for your notorious Financial Reviews, Attempts to disprove applicants with HIGH income are lying, I didn't bring it on. If not remove the inq. you go your way I will go mine.

Thanks

So if you found out someone with a similar name and SS number applied
for those cards, did you pull your credit reports to check for fraud?
Or are you certain that AMEX made a mistake and will change their
minds once they see this letter?

I think you have a bigger concern other than AMEX refusing to give you
another card.

....I just found out someone with a like name and SSN had applied for
those cards.... I would be much more concerned about THAT than trying
to get yet another credit out of the sea of 1000's or more.

how were you able to obtain this other person's name and social? by PepperElf Tue October 5, 2010 @ 5:56 PM

I guess I don't get why you need AmEx. I mean, there are credit cards
out there that don't charge an annual fee, right? And so long as you
pay your balance in full each month (as AmEx's charge card requires),
you don't end up paying any interest.

AmEx needs to charge a fee because they don't earn any interest from
their charge accounts.

Question: If you have over a million dollars to your name, why do you
need credit? it seems with that kind of spending power, you would be
able to make any purchase you want outright and not have to pay fees
and interest to AMEX.
