I made a purchase on for $194.95 for an A/C Compressor off eBay with my Chase Debit Card. I filed the dispute 8/05/10. I got the compressor and had it installed the next day and the compressor worked for a day and failed. I had to buy a new compressor and have it installed and it worked fine. I emailed the seller and told them what happend and they told me I couldn't get a refund. They said the couldn't refund me because the product was already installed, well how would I know if it worked or not without installing it? I made many attempts to contact the seller without any help from them and they quit replying to my emails. They have a website and I tried calling but the phone number doesn't work. Today, 9/29 Chase reversed my dispute and now I'm out $194.95. This isn't fair because I did all I could to try and get a refund from the seller and they wouldn't cooperate. I've been a loyal Chase customer for years and I have 2 CC's through them and an automobile loan. I feel betrayed and if I don't get any help I will be closing 2 of my accounts ASAP.

I called Chase and they wanted to me fax in a second opinion saying the part was defective. I've faxed the papers in 3, THREE, times and they haven't got it once. I've been trying to get this done for a week but they haven't got any of my faxes. What a bunch of BS this bank has given me. After this is done I'm done with Chase, there's plenty of other banks I'm tired of dealing with their sh*t.

Unless I'm missing something it seems that your dispute should be with the seller or even ebay. I don't understand your issue with the bank?

Think of it like this: you wrote tjem a check to buy the equipment, and they cashed the check. You later decide it isn't what you want. Can you go to your bank and ask them to return the check you wrote. The answer is no. It's the same with a debit card, there really isn't a dispute process for dissatisfaction, only for fraud. You are confusing debit and credit cards. You have a whole world of protections with a credit card purchase that you do not have with a debit card. The only recourse you will likely have would be through eBay, and I wouldn't hang my hat on them helping a buyer.

I figured eBay was better since I was going to save $200. Guess not..

Ah the joys of Ebay, buying online, and debit cards.
No thanks, I will stick to local means, and cash.
I usually buy parts from either a junkyard, or a place that does the work of disassembling them.
The ones that disassemble actually give you a decent warranty on them.
Not only an awesome price but a warranty to boot.
Sure beats paying retail or buying an unknown product on ebay.
Good Day

Yes I filed a dispute and the seller never even responded and they ruled in his favor.
