Allow The REAL God of Heaven to bless your employees through prayers of REAL Godly people

It is really very sad to come into Ridgedale Target in Minnetonka Minnesota, and not be able to pray for people. It's already disgusting that God and prayer have been taken out of our schools, but now public places such as a well known store such as Target is not allowing others to be blessed by prayer, especially for healing, prosperity, and for any other needs that God would like everyone to be blessed with. We respect the store employees are at work, but just to take not even a minutes to pray for people should not be a just cause for fellow workers to tell us not to pray in the store or in the parking lot. I feel sorry for those who do not encourage God in our communities, stores, and other public places. They allow employees to take time out to pray to other gods, why not allow prayers to the REAL God have free reign?

You sound like one of those people that goes into a retail store during the holidays and starts preaching to the employees about "your salvation with the lord Jesus Christ" and handing out pamphlets about how if you don't change, you'll go to hell.
Do everyone a favor, and stop trying to impose your religious beliefs on people. Keep your religion in your heart and off your sleeve.

Obviously you are just stirring up crap (or Allah help us you are a crazy fundamentalist). "They allow employees to take time out to pray to other gods, why not allow prayers to the REAL God have free reign". Did you know that Jews, Christians AND Muslims all pray to the same god, just in different ways? No joke!
What you really want is for everyone to agree with you. It has nothing to do with God or religion even. Seek help.
God bless the 1st Amendment, keeping the church (not God) out "of our schools" since 1791!

God does not belong in target. Keep it at home and in church/temple whatever.
Real god? Whose to say what god is real or not, I'd love to see prayer be allowed in a store. I'd love to see if because the second a muslim pulled out a matt to pray you would be the first person to ignorantly rant about how they shouldn't be allowed to do that.

Why would you want to pray in a store to begin with? And that's definitely quite brazen to suggest that there is only "one real God." Yes, maybe to you there's only one real deity, but other folks may pray to another deity (or even Satan), multiple gods, or no gods at all. That's pretty much rounding up every single belief system that is not based on one god and saying they're all meaningless in comparison.
I cannot tell from the letter if you're just walking around the store praying to yourself or trying to "save" people...odds are if you weren't allowed to pray in the store, you were probably irritating other customers by foisting your beliefs on them. Most people do not want to be coaxed into a religion or told how they're going to burn in hell forever if they don't convert.
Personally, I would not go into a store that allowed preachy religious fanatics to harass me about joining their faith. I'm sure the store does not want to drive off folks like its Pagan, Muslim or atheist customers (just to name a few).

Eva, please.
I hope that you realize that not everyone believes in what you believe in. That is the REAL world. Please adapt to it quickly...
or pray for your discovery of this reality a lot faster.

Target is NOT public property. Target is private property, owned and operated by Target. One of their very staunch rules is "No soliciting." They have every right to tell you to leave and not harass guests. I am a religious person, but even I would get annoyed by someone praying over me or demanding that I pray while I'm working. You know when I pray? In private and during Mass.
Maybe you should pay attention to Matthew, Chapter 6:
"Take care! Don't do your good deeds publicly, to be admired, because then you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven.
2 When you give a gift to someone in need, don't shout about it as the hypocrites do--blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I assure you, they have received all the reward they will ever get.
3 But when you give to someone, don't tell your left hand what your right hand is doing.
4 Give your gifts in secret, and your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you.
5 "And now about prayer. When you pray, don't be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I assure you, that is all the reward they will ever get.
6 But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father secretly. Then your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you.
7 "When you pray, don't babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered only by repeating their words again and again.
8 Don't be like them, because your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!"

Tis is the devil's world and the devil hates HIM, so says God.
The Ammendment was put into place because 9 years after the King James Bible was released, England saw that God's word was contrary to what the Catholic Church was pushing and were killed for saying so.
They set out for the new world to worship Him according to His word (The Pilgrims) and didn't want the Vatican to govern them as they have always been about domination.
But as people want to do that which seems right in their own eyes, the likes of ACLU minded people perverted all that.
The fact that the Catholic church is Democrats should tell people alot.
Democrats support gay marriage and abortion while God's UNCHANGING word is against them.
Read Matthew 24.Jesus says this is all coming but be not troubled.
Hang on,He will call us out one day and the rest will stand before Him in judgement.
I appreciate you standing but you will get nothing but hatred from the baby killing LEFT.
They are "LOST" and only jesus can unblind them.
The devil is preaching tolerance while God still demands obedience and believeing in God does not make you a Christian. The devil believes in God.You must surrender to Christ.
Pray without ceasing and bless those that persecute you for His namesake.

Wow - where do I begin with this one....
First of all, we have freedom of religion in this country. THAT INCLUDES ATHEISTS AND AGNOSTICS! What you want to do at your local Target would be viewed as VERY OFFENSIVE by anybody who was an atheist or an agnostic. I guarantee that store has at least one or two employees who fall into these camps.
Secondly, we have a WONDERFUL concept here in the U.S. called "separation of church and state". It exists so we don't end up with a modified version of Nazi Germany in our own country - where everyone is forced to believe in a particular religion and, those that don't, are rounded up in cattle cars and sent off to camps.
I'm guessing you're Christian (in fact, it's more than a guess. I'd bet a large sum of money on you being Christian and I'm sure I'd win....this is due to the fact that other religions don't seem to gripe about the problems mentioned in your PlanetFeedback letter). Would you like it if we mandated that Judaism was the only acceptable religion and prayer had to be Jewish prayer?
I'm guessing you wouldn't like that, right?
Now you know how I'd feel - as an atheist - hearing you mention God, Jesus and prayer at my local Target store when I was just hoping to do some secular shopping in peace.

Maybe I'm missing something, bit I think you guys are making a lot of assumptions that I don't necessarily see. I see nowhere in the letter where she said they were praying at people or disrupting people from their shopping, I think some of you are inferring that based on your preconceived opinions about Christians. I suppose Target wouldn't tell them this for no reason, but I'd like to know more about what happened before jumping to conclusions. If they were being forceful and praying at people, then I agree Target was right to say something. If they were simply praying to themselves, I don't know. Does Target really want to be on record as telling people not to pray while 80% of Americans profess to be Christians? Where does my freedom of religion end and your right not to be offended begin? I don't know what the answer is.
That all said, as a Christian I don't necessarily think this is an effective strategy. If you want to pray for people, you can do so silently to yourself, just you and God. He hears you just the same :-)

Penn Jillette may have said it best when someone asked him why he is an atheist.
Penn said, "I'm an atheist because there is no god."

praying to yourself is one thing
but if you're openly praying at someone, you have to keep in mind that person may not want it.
therefore if the person doesn't want it, then you could be harassing them - especially if they ask you to stop.
I would recommend, pray if you want to, but if you do it silently, they cannot stop you.

I was at Target yesterday, in the customer service line. I was praying out loud they would accept my return without a receipt. I couldn't believe it when they told me to keep my mouth shut. Ridiculous.

I believe God is WAY too powerful to be "taken out" of anywhere. As another poster said, kids are allowed to pray in schools. Schools are not however allowed to force anyone to pray.
However, we as Christians are told not to pray on street corners, but alone in our closets. Matthew 6:5-6
"5"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
So, I have to wonder why you feel a need to pray in Target for people who may not want you to, when you can pray to yourself and the Bible says God will see and hear.
I am curious, are all employees allowed time out to pray if they wish? I do know the Muslim pray times are less flexible then some other religions.
And what you are talking about isn't the same thing. You seem to be saying you should be allowed to interrupt people who are actively working vs. employees taking time to pray on their own.
All in all, is what you are doing really good witnessing?

You're totally able to pray for other people. In your own home and church, on your own time.

First of all, no one has taken prayer out of school. Any child in a public school is legally able to pray, so long as he/she does not disturb others while doing so.
Second, someone who tries to bless me and pray for me as I'm running errands is going to get an earful of words they've probably never heard before, involving extremely foul language and wishes of very bad things to happen to them.
Third, Jews and Muslims pray to the same god Christians do.
Fourth, it's pretty obvious that you were bothering people enough that store employees (most likely Christian, given the demographics of white-bread, high-income Minnetonka) had to tell you to knock it off.
FWIW, I'll be at Target tonight in West St. Paul, about 45 minutes from Minnetonka, right around 5 p.m.
