I have to say.....Sprint has been EXCELLENT on their customer service, my work has been slow....Like very slow to poverty level. I have been calling in monthly to make my payment, the c.s. gals are ultra sweet and have help me out ....big time!!!! Thank you Sprint!!!!

I too have had problems with Sprint Customer Service. Spent hours on the phone trying to get a crappy phone replaced. Finally gave up and just closed the account & paid the early termination fee. Your only option is to go into a Sprint owned store (not one that just has their name) to pay your bill in person.

Try creating a Sprint.com account and using your CC to pay online.

Did you have one or more credit cad payments declined due to lack of available credit on the card? Usually, this is the reason for the restrictions you mention.

see if they'll take money orders. you may be able to purchase one (for a small fee - usually under $5) and use that to pay your bill.
or use the card to obtain cash and then pay the bill.

Credit cards are a rubber crutch, people lean on them to help them in financial times, but they are rubber and you will fall.
If you play with the snakes, you will eventually get bit.
The best advice is to cancel the cell phones, amazingly people made it without them, somehow, amazing, but true.

I don't get it. Money is money. Sprint should be glad to get it however they can. No wonder they are losing customers.

Sadly, I'm betting there were enough jerky people who were behind in bills and used a CC to pay, then turned around and refuted the charge to get out of paying, leaving Sprint (or whatever carrier) stuck holding the bag and the service is still on for a time.
I'm not saying THIS OP is pulling a scam, but it only takes a few idiots doing something stupid to wreck it for the decent, honest people.
Realistically, she could take the CC to her bank and do a cash advance. It will cost her a few bucks in fees, but it will accomplish what she needs to get her bill paid and her service restored.

Our electric company will do this but only if your bill is overdue AND you have bounced a check trying to pay the overdue amount. Same with our local water company. I havent experienced it firsthand but it is a written policy. I don't know your situation but if you have had a recent returned check with Sprint this might be what is happening and why they won't take the credit card payment.

Is it possible to get cash advance, or better yet, one of those balance transfer checks from your credit card company? Most credit card companies don't restrict the use of those checks to balance transfers. You can deposit them into your account and use the money however you like. Take just the amount of the bills you need to pay urgently; you don't want to ring up a big debt. While there is often a processing fee associated with these checks, the interest is usually very low, sometimes 0% until a certain date.

I've got mixed feelings on this. On the one hand, it seems like they should be able to verify the card real-time and do the payment.
Overall thought, I can see this. You were two months late paying your bill, so they have policies to protect themselves. Maybe they can't verify the card at the time? Or are concerned about other issues?
Sometimes companies do decide that losing a given customer is better for them, usually for the bottom line.
