Boycotting Home Depot!

I don't know how I missed this letter back in November, it's right up
my alley! When I did the March on the Capital for gay rights in early
2000, there was a group of lesbians wearing home depot shirts... only
they said "homo depot"! Ha!

Great letter, and I agree with you 100%.

Remember, folks: In most states, it's completely legal to fire or
evict someone simply because they are GLBT. One of the very sad
things about this country.

Gotta love how many people read the first sentence and couldn't hit
the "Reply" button fast enough :P

I was about to go to Lowe's but I will now go directly to Home Depot.
What exactly is the gay agenda? I bet you don't know but I bet you

Your association is a considered a hate group. Grow up, step out of
the sandbox, and you might see there's a whole world out there!

What exactly is the homosexual agenda? One of my best friends is a
lesbian and she couldn't tell me what it was when I asked her.

I normally shop a lowes, However after hearing about this I'll be
going to home depot! and I'm going to boycott the American Family
Association. :-)

at Home Depot to help make up for your hatred that would make Jesus
weep. He would wonder why you were unable to understand his lessons of
love, understanding, acceptance, and forgiveness to all, and chose

And just what is this evil, nefarious plot you refer to as the

Oh, I think I know!

Their "agenda" is to be able to quietly and peacefully live their
lives with out the threat of being assaulted or otherwise mistreated
because of whom they fall in love with and to be treated fairly under
the law.

How can any decent human being find fault with that?

...drug use.

What people put into their bodies on their own time is their own
business.

As long as they don't drive a car, or operate heavy machinery, they
should be able to do whatever drug they wish to do as they are only
hurting themselves.

Companies really have NO RIGHT, despite what the courts may say, to
drug test employees or to try to control what their people do away
from the worksite.

1) the abuser may end up arrested
2) if they're in deep into abuse it may affect job performance
3) if their abuse ends up costing too much... there's the chance of
theft to pay for the habit.
4) it can easily drive customers away cos even if the employee isn't
high anymore, it may be VERY clear that they've been abusing


sure there are those who want to think that none of this matters
but... it's a business, not a charity. Hiring drug abusers IS a
business risk.

just as alcohol abuse can also cost someone a job... so should drug
abuse if it's a problem. (and keep in mind just because the abuser
thinks it's not a problem and not noticeable does not mean it's not
obvious to everyone else around them.
