Unhappy Wal-Mart customer

Write a Letter to this Company  |  Rate this Company

On 11/12/2010 I got to walmart in bryan OH as I was going to park the cartpusher blocked the spot and walked off I thought that he was going to get another cart when he walked to another car started talking and smoking with a friend. I honked my horn and he raised his hands as if to say what so I got out to move the carts over. He hit a button on a remote and they moved so I got back in and parked when I got out he gave me the finger so I walked inside and reported it. they saw it on tape and called me and asked me to write down what had happened as they had no sound on their video so I did he has now been fired but I have not even got an apology is it wrong for me to be so upset.

I would like them to say sorry for what happened and possible even offer a gift card for all that I did to help and the lack of action they took to make it right with me.

The whole letter is one that until I read that you were asking for
some type of freebie gain, I was totally in your corner. I echo the
other sentiments of the sane, who responded to your letter. Yes, the
guy got himself fired, but you aren't due any monetary "gifts" for
this, as, HE IS FIRED. That's your satisfaction. "For all you did to
help?" It was YOUR complaint, you had to supply information to
substantiate it, or else it would have gone nowhere. "Ans the lack of
action???" Please explain this! Again, the guy has been fired. Is
burned at the stake enough action??? You would have been better off,
leaving that last paragraph, off your letter.

I think that through the manager's actions, he understand that you
were not treated properly at his store and that he wanted to make
things right. A site would offer a gift card when a customer was
financially wronged. While having someone give you the finger is
offensive, it is not the type of thing that causes a major medical
condition or costs you money. I would not have asked for a gift card,
but would have stated that you were reluctant to shop there again due
to the incident. Never ask for the gift card because if you do, you
usually won't get one. Lead the reader down the path and let them
think it was their idea.

Who do you want the apology from? The fired employee? Good luck with
that. He's obviously not a class act judging by his behavior, and
Wal-Mart certainly can't make him do so now that he's no longer
employed. I suppose it would have been nice of whomever fired the guy
to say "I'm sorry he treated you that way", but other than that they
responded appropriately. They reviewed the tapes, confirmed with you
what happened, and removed the offending employee from their staff as
a means of making sure it doesn't happen again. You don't deserve to
receive OR be offered a gift card, and I'm not sure why you want the
offer if you don't think you necessarily deserve one. Would you really
turn it down if they HAD offered it?

I say let it go. The guy did a dumb thing and now he's paying the
price.

He already got fired . Why isnt that enough for you?You should let
this go and forget about it. He is no doubt kicking himself for
getting himself fired right at the holidays. He probably wont find
another one any time soon.

They saw the incident, invited you to describe what happened and they
fired the employee for being rude to you.

I feel bad for them now, seeing that they took action, only for them
to be told that it's not good enough.

I agree with you that what happened between you and the cart pusher is
unacceptable.
Regarding the apology, which would you rather have? The manager
schmoozing you and spewing out a meaningless "I'm so sorrrrrrry!"spiel
along with offering you a gift card? Or would you rather have the
employee fired and the situation solved so no other customers are
offended? While I think the best way to handle this situation would be
a toned down version of the first option (sans the gift card) combined
with the second, the resolution you received shows that management
took your concern seriously and addressed the problem.

You don't deserve a gift card. That's for certain.

People get flipped off every day. Just deal with it.

By reporting it, the guy lost his job. Isn't that reward/revenge
enough for you?

Why is everyone saying that she (the OP) got someone fired?

The associate got his own self fired when he flipped her off. Near as
I can tell, she didn't do anything wrong.

If Walmart gave away free stuff to everyone who complained they would
probably be bankrupt.

You did honk first. You say he threw his hand up like "What". I would
have hollered out the window something like "Can I park here?" Instead
you took the passive aggressive approach. I can't blame him for being
ticked. But it's never ok for an employee to flip the bird. You did
the right thing by reporting him.

I don't see how you deserve a gift card. The kid was fired. If anyone
owes you an appology it is him, and I doubt you would get one from him
since he sounds like a punk.

The guy was FIRED. To them, they've already given you something. I
don't really understand why you want any more than that. He's not
employed there and even if they gave you an apology, they wouldn't
mean it.

The manager may have assumed the matter resolved once the offending
employee was terminated. Apologizing would have been good etiquette
but actions speak louder than words. If the manager wasn't sorry then
the employee would still be there being rude to other customers.

Yes, it is wrong to be so upset. He's obvious a dipshizzle. Why give
him a second thought? Why do you deserve a gift card? Do you believe
you deserve one anytime something negative happens at all?

Why didn't you just move your car to a different parking spot?
