Fix my phone properly already!!!

On Wednesday, January 12th, I lost phone service after a snowstorm. I called Verizon, using my cell phone, and was told that someone would be out the next day to restore service.

I came home the next day to find that while dial tone had been restored, the static on the line was so overpowering that I could not make or receive calls. I called Verizon again, and was told that someone would be out again on Saturday, January 15th. For reasons no one can explain, the repair date was changed to Monday, January 17th.

Today, January 17th, I checked the line again. Once again, it's dead. I called yet again and spoke to "Lisa", who said that someone would be out tomorrow, despite the fact that the line techs left the line in worse condition than before. I am currently awaiting a return call from a supervisor at Verizon. I was informed that it would be a two-hour wait; I believe this reflects how badly customer service at Verizon has declined.

Not having phone service for a week due to its not being fixed properly is an outrage! First, I want the phone line fixed. I don't think that's too much to ask. Second, I think that a credit reflecting one week of loss of use is in order.

A copy of this complaint is also being sent to the New York State Public Service Commission.

I await your reply.

If you had a very bad storm, you might also want to ensure your phone
is actually functional.

An easy way to test that is to buy a backup phone (one of those cheap
things that's under 20 bucks) and see if it works properly.

mom had that once after a storm... the surge of electricity through
the line fried one of the phones. the damaged phone then prevented her
from calling out.

Also, see if they are still repairing lines. if there's still damage
to fix, it may possibly affect your lines for a little while longer.

I checked both my phones, and neither were working. I then called my
land line using my cell - it rang on the cell's end, but not the land
line. They came back again this morning to fix the line again...
let's see if it works.
