Omg on 2/4/11 after a wrestling tournament my family and some friends went to the red lobster in owings mills md. when we arrived there was no host at the door not a big deal maybe she was seating someone. finally we were greeted and were sat, we had a party of 10. the server arrived about 15 mins later and said sorry i'm about to get off and do yhall plan on being here a while, I could not believe it. I asked for the manager right away. the manager came and said sorry but she is about to get off and we are short handed, i will send her back over to get your order. the server came back a few mins later to take our drink order. we order drinks and got them then ordered our food. the food took a while. got our food as soon as she gave us our food she gave us our check and wanted us to cash out. I have never been a resturant and been treated this way. Our bill was over 150.00 and we were asked to pay as soon as the food came to the table. never in my life has this ever happened. I was so mad, no point in talking to the manager again, he did nothing from the get go. I will never ever go there again. and I will be sure to let everyone else I know not to ever go there. the worst service ever. she should lose her job

i want a refund.

I don't believe you deserve a refund, because, well, I think you
should have said something then and there, and I likely wont ever
change my mind about that type of situation.

I think they should have either turned you away based on the late
hour, or just happily waited on your party and dealt with it with a
smile, but not this weird middle ground where you're punished for
their having chosen to accept your business.

However.... 10 people for $150? What on earth did you order at Red
Lobster? My meal alone, without drinks, is over $25.

I agree. Red Lobster has awful service. And it's really bad when you
asked to speak to the manager and they didn't do anything. He should
have just said bug off and get lost. At least that would have been
more honest.

Actually, she should not. The management should. My wife worked for
Red Lobster years back and one of the many "policies" she had to
follow as an employee was never going over her hours. This meant she
had to do things like you experienced. She did not like doing it, but
she literally could have lost her job if she stayed over. She even
got suspended once because she had a large party come in with two
minutes left on her shift. She clocked out, and went on serving the
party. In the middle of bringing out the food, her manager yelled at
her in front of the customers. First, he yelled because he thought
she was still on the clock. She quietly told him that she was off the
clock. He yelled at her again, in front of the table. The manager
told her she was suspended for a month and told her to leave
immediately. All of this went on as she was serving the table.

I don't blame you for being mad, but don't be mad at the waitress. Be
mad at the management and the company for having such insane policies.
