Expired coupons are, well, EXPIRED!!!

What is it with people who think that expiry dates do not apply to
them?? Then they complain. Unbelievable!

There is a reason for expiration dates on coupons. Burger King
shouldn't have honored you expired coupon. They did you a favor and
yet you still complain!

Why in the world would you expect Burger King to accept an EXPIRED
coupon? They did you a favor by honoring it. It was EXPIRED. They
should have just handed it right back to you with no discount on your
meal price. Consider yourself lucky.

While I understand not liking hand drying blowers, this is not a
rarity. I think that this would warrant as a suggestion more than a
complaint.

Regarding the catsup/ketchup (come on, people. don’t nitpick. you get
it.): I think that if you feel that that’s changed, it warrants a
complaint/question. I would suggest phrasing it more as a question.
ie: Have you changed the formula of the ketchup you use? I have been
eating at so and so location for years and have noticed a difference
in taste. It seems to have degraded quite a bit, in my opinion.”

Re: the coupon: you should be THANKFUL that they honored the coupon.
You were late in redeeming it. It’s not a gift certificate; it’s a
coupon. Instead of complaining, you should be writing a COMPLIMENT for
the girl who honored the coupon!

Friendly and frustrated? Not quite sure I get that one...

Most places are not having paper towels because of the every place
must "GO GREEN" or risk our natural resources people who complained
and got them removed.

And a coupon that is a couple of days over is still EXPIRED, and the
store will NOT get ANY MONEY from the source (even if it is from
corporate and the store is a corporation store.)

Can you imagine how much loss they may take from taking these? If you
were the only one it would be one thing, but what if you tell your
friends about how they take it anyways? Then they would go in and
expect the same thing. It adds up.

Perhaps it's a franchise issue - I know my BK has improved
significantly in recent years. I suspect it's a management thing as
the quality of the food and cleanliness of the restaurant (my two
biggies) have significantly improved.

One additional thing I want to mention, based on the conversation
below, as a business owner, I know nothing is free. Things like
straws, napkins, lids cost money ~ but you will lose business if the
customer feels like the business is nickel & diming them. I work at a
vet clinic on Saturdays and certain vets in our area are charging $10
for a written prescription for heartworm or frontline. Customers
don't like it ~ they're feeling the economic pinch as much as
businesses are ~ so businesses need to be sure their policies do not
alienate their client base. They come to me, I write out the RX and
have the doctor sign it. Doesn't cost anything but makes for a happy
client.

Is it better to charge .10 for a paper cup for water, knowing it could
lose you a customer who's going to spend $10 today (and who knows how
much in the future) or just eat the cost?

It's an individual decision, but one business owners need to look at.

The coupon for us was not a major issue. The (lack of) quality of
food was. In-addition the restroom needs improvement etc.

Perhaps you should try a nutritious homemade meal.

I find it particulary curious that no one I have seen opens the door
knobs while exiting someone elses bathroom in their home with a
papertowel then throws the towel away.

Its like germs only exist on restaurant doors.

do not use the ketchup pumps at all, they are teeming with bacteria.
I always ask for ketchup packets.

Re, the coupon, expired is expired. I have no sympathy for a
complaint that involves an expired coupon. Do you buy food products
after they expire?

You've said in replies that the coupon wasn't the issue, but clearly
in your orignal post it was.

Most places will charge for the cup if you get something larger than a
courtesy cup.

The coupon was expired as pointed out before - they were under no
obligation to honor it. The fact that they did should make this a
compliment.


Hand dryers ... personally I'm against them because they're not truly
more sanitary. The temperatures used in most of them are actually
good for GROWING bacteria, not killing it. If it was hot enough to
kill bacteria, you'd have skin damage.

The clerk was very nice and also was irritated by the co. (BURGER
KING) changes to see if the coupon was valid. " She stated "they use
to have a number on the receipt and that is all we had to look at".
Then she noticed after reading the entire receipt it was a couple days
expired and decided to ignore that. I AGREE THEY DID NOT HAVE TO HONOR
SUCH AND THAT WOULD BE FINE WITH ME. WE ARE NO LONGER EATING AT THIS
FRANCHISE BECAUSE OF THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD, LACK OF PAPER TOWELS IN
BATHROOMS, AND PERHAPS THE REASON FOR THE BAD TASTING KETCHUP IS
BECAUSE THE PUMP IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF A WINDOW AND THE SUN HEATS UP
SUCH? SOMEONE SHOULD CHECK THAT OUT.

If the coupon is expired, then it is expired. I don't see why they
should just let it go. It would be nice of them to give you a grace
period, but under no means are they obligated to.

As much as I hate hand dryers for their lack of instant gratification,
I do think they are a better option than paper towel. They are more
sanitary, less messy, and they never run out. I hate being in a
bathroom with paper towel all over the floor, or one with an empty
dispenser. Also, the environmental factor is important too.

As for the quality of the food, I think if it is bad then by all means
speak with your wallet and go elsewhere.
