Toothless due to KFC

A while back my family and I stopped in at KFC for dinner, the service was good and the food seemed fine then as i was chewing my chicken I bit down on a pebble that shattered 3 teeth, causing a reflex bite which caused even more damage. Bleeding and upset we asked for the manager, I was then escorted out of the store by a short heavyset black woman and handed a dollar off wooden token as she pushed me out the door.A few days later I finally was able to see a dentist and was told that I was looking at approx $26800 in dental work, now until that day i had a perfect set of teeth. I waited a few days and called KFC corporate headquarters, I explained what happened and was told that they would get back with me, that has never happened, I have spent over $9000 since that day and it has gotten progressively worse, at a recent dentist visit I was told Im now looking at $50000 to fix this mess and never so much as a word from KFC to this day.A lawyer called me out of the blue one day and I was told that I was one of 4 people that it happened to at that store, and wanted to know if i wanted legal help, I said no thinking they would do what right, silly me HUH!!
Set up a dentist so I can get this fixed, It now has caused a lot of health problems, I cant eat, and have been on antibiotics for almost a year now.
All I want is for them to do the right thing and pay the darn dental bill.

I had major dental surgery; four wisdom tooth extractions and two fillings spread out over several weeks. Paying out of pocket came out to around $2000. I have no idea where you would have to pay such outrageous prices for three teeth to be repaired. It seems that the $9000 sprent would have been adequate for this task.
I also find it odd that, without an incident/police report, a lawyer would be able to track you down and offer legal help. That doesn't seem completely on the ball either.

You have to bite down on a pebble mighty hard to be able to "shatter" THREE TEETH, and if you were eating chicken, as soft as that is, your "reflex" would have sensed something was in your mouth that was MUCH harder than chicken long before you bit down on anything.
If your teeth did in fact shatter because of one single bite on a "pebble" than you were long over due for a Dentist appointment anyway.
Common sense would be to stay at the location during the incident and require a member of Management to complete an accident report. Most major companies are required to do this. If you are refused an accident report...go as far as to call the police and report the incident through them.
I have never, ever heard of a wooden token coupon/giftcard/whatever from KFC, please enlighten me. And please also enlighten me as to what planet you live on where Lawyers contact you out of the blue.
For the money your crook of a Dentist has supposedly charged you thus far you could have received an entire mouth full of brand new teeth.
I'm sensing an odor here and it's more than just halitosis.

If you had cracked your teeth like that then why the hell didn't you see someone right away?
Also did you keep the "pebble"? I'm wondering if it was actually a pebble (as there really shouldn't be a way for a pebble to find its way into your chicken) or if it was a piece of bone. If it was a pebble and this has happened with other people then perhaps a health inspection may be in order. It may not help you but if a pebble managed to get in their chicken then their food handling is not up to par.

I'm sorry, but this screams "SCAM" to me! Unless there is a record of some kind, there is no way a lawyer would have "called out of the blue". This whole story is bulls***.

I would recommend going back to the location with a copy of your dental bills and ask to talk to a manager.
You may also want to talk to the lawyer again and see if he can cut you a deal on the retainer, especially since he apparently already has 3 other clients.

OMG.,.. You never turn down a lawyer for something like that.
I would suggest trying to call him or her back.
With something like that, and with such large bills, it has to go to court. Especially since there were others listed on the ticket.

I knew there was a term for it that I couldn't remember.
I'm blaming pain pills for a bum knee..Even if it's just Advil...:)

How would a lawyer know anything about your case or even get your number?
Then having it happen to 3 other people at the same store!!
You were treated the way you did, got pushed out the door, had to pay expensive bills, and you turn down a chance to get your teeth fixed by KFC??
I would call that lawyer back, swallowing liquid meals has to get old
good day

I'll say this as politely as I can... $50,000 to fix your teeth? That's ridiculous. Are you looking at totally new implants or exactly what? A lawyer called YOU out of the blue? And you refused the lawyer knowing it happened to four other people? Staff pushed you out the door? This has been going on for almost a year?
Please give us more information and details. There is simply too much missing from this story. Did you go to an Emergency clinic after this? If so, there might be some documentation to back up your story. If not, it's way too late.

Am I reading this correctly twenty six thousand and eight hundred dollars. My god what exactly happended to cause such extreme damage.
Did you get pictures of the damage. What did the manager say when he saw the blood in your mouth. Did he even look at your teeth. Did you show him the pebble.
Have you found out about the others with the same problem.
I would never let anyone push me out the door until I at least has an insident report compeleted on the spot
Well anyway good luck and please let us know how this turns out.
