horrible sick few days

On 05/21/2011 I was visiting the City of Pittsburgh, PA. I decided to visit the down town location of Max & Erma's. To my surprise I and my companion were seated right away.


After that is was all down hill. Our waitress decide to have a nice long conversation with some other guests.

A manager noticed after 23 minutes we didnt even have drinks and did serve us drinks, even though they were incorrect.

We decided to order dinner straight away because I am a diabetic and must eat on a schedule or face becoming very sick. well the dinner didn't come and didn't come. SO my companion, fearing that I would become ill order an appetizer so i could take my injection and have a little food. First attempt the appetizer was incorrect, the second attempt was horrible. the nachos had some kind of red meat sauce the was scortched, old and nasty. i had already taken my inject and feared that i may pass out with out eating soon. I attempted to eat the nachos with out the sauce on it to keep my glucose from becoming dangerously low. Of course that is almost impossible and did ingest some of the rancid meat sauce. the meal continued on this downhill slide, no refills of drinks, no one checked on us and our meal actually took 35 minutes to arrive. It was difficult to get some one to get our check and for them to take the money. we walked back to our hotel and I was up all night with gasteric distress. by morning my trip was ruined and could not attended the function I was in town for and ended up going to hosptial for treatment. I was told more than likley i was suffering from food poisoning and there is no way to tell how i got it. I feel i was that visit to the max & Erma's we spoke to the manager and he offered us a $5.00 coupon. but my hotel stay was ruined the function was ruined, my bloody weekend was ruined

i think you should pay for my entire weekend

The diabetics *I* know carry appropriate snacks with them just in case they are in a situation like you found yourself in. In the event that it *was* food poisoning, the medical experts told you there was no way of knowing how you got it. But you want to lay the blame on the feet of the restaurant. While you're certainly entitled to feel like you do, you offer no proof that Max & Erma's was responsible. Good luck with your complaint. BTW,if I was that concerned about getting ill from not eating,I would have eaten the incorrect appetizer and worried about it being wrong later. I wouldn't put my health at risk just as a matter of principle. Reply Agreed. "I'm diabetic, and the meal is taking longer than I'd anticipated. Can I have a few rolls/crackers/cup of soup so that I can control my blood sugar?" Reply
