A couple of years ago, I had my brakes done at the Firestone in Speedway Indiana.when i picked up the car, they felt really choppy, and I had to bring the car back to them to adjust and smooth out. I no longer have my receipt, because at the time after i had brought it back to them it seemed fine, and by now they would be out of warranty anyway. About 2 weeks ago, the car started making a clunking sound when braking and I could feel the vibration in the brake pedal. It got progressively worse so I took it to the CarX close to where i live now. they said it was the drums and that they were filed down too thin and wore out much faster than they should have. they said, its likely they were defective so I just spent $265 on work, that I should not have had to have done this soon.( I only put about 10,000 miles on it a year)
I think The techs at firestone should take more care to do the job right.Test drive the cars.think of it as you would think of your own car. would you be satisfied with the way it drives? for example if the brakes feel choppy, fix it before the customer picks it up.And by fix i mean, replace parts if they are defective, don't half ass it. It will save you time in the long run and make for happy customers too.

You never get your car inspected at places that "repairs" cars....
Like I always suggest, get a basic understanding of mechanics. A course at your local community college goes a long way.
Good Day

It's firestone. There's your problem.
Yeah I have nothing good to say about them. Mainly because the first (and last) time I took my car to them for work, they illegally scraped my registration stickers and then got snippy with ME when I dared complain. "It's the LAW!!!" they said... yeah. there is a law, and it's one you broke by scraping my registration sticker. dipwads.

When you say, "a couple of years ago", do you mean two? Or maybe 4 or 5?
CarX can give you your old parts back, if you ask for them. (Well, if you ask, they kind of *have* to.) You can then examine the drums yourself or take them to a friend who knows brakes.
When you went to Firestone--were you offered different brake packages? Did you pick a less-expensive option?
Just askin'.
