Meijer Pharmacy Customer Service Transgressions

I had a prescription filled at the Meijer Store # 106 Pharmacy on North Main Street in Dayton, Ohio. This prescription was filled wrong--which I did not discover until later at home. So, I decided to get it refilled at Kroger, and to return the one that was not right to Meijer. The prescription was suppose to be for Calcitriol 0.5 mcg Capsules (twice per day), and paid $47.59 for 60 capsules at Kroger. The Meijer Pharmacy filled this prescription as Calcitriol 0.25 mcg Capsules (2 capsules once per day), and paid $47.11 for 60 capsules. The insurance I used was the same for both pharmacies. So, not only did Meijer not get the prescription right, they also did not get the price I should have been charge accurate either.

When I was back in Meijer, a day or 2 later, to return the bad prescription--I was informed by the female technician and pharmacist on duty, that I could not return the capsules for a refund. I was also told that I was confused, and the doctor's office had made a mistake when the prescription was called in to them.

What the Meijer Pharmacist and Tech. did not know when they made their rude customer service judgements and decisions--is when the prescription was called to them it was not new. I have been on the Calcitriol 0.5 mcg prescription for about a year, and it had been called in correctly to Krogers--prior to it being called into Meijer. Also, I do not understand how or why Meijer charged me practicably the same price for Calcitriol 0.25 mcg (which is 1/2 the strength of Calcitriol 0.5 mcg) for 60 capsules.

I would like Meijer, Inc. to refund to me what I over paid for the half strength Calcitriol capsules. Also, I would like a formal apology for the poor Meijer Pharmacy customer services.

We received a prescription in error....lesson learned. Now I
double-check them before leaving the pharmacy.

Dealing with insurance is also a huge pain. Of course, Meijer didn't
charge you 'correctly' as they charged you for 0.25 instead of 0.5.

Being that I'm sleep deprived, I read the original message wrong.
Apparently, it wasn't transferred but 2 different medications were
called into 2 different pharmacies. Eh, I better go to bed, lol.
