The email to not stock Ben & Jerrys Shweddy Balls ice cream !!! WTF?

I just saw Alec Baldwin on SNL last weekend. He addressed the fact
that some stores are caving to the uptight moms who don't like the
name of the ice cream. He said that B&J has come out with a new
flavor just for those women. The flavor is called "Go Fudge
Yourself." bwahahahahaha!

What's a 'Shweddy Ball'?

although i think the name is tasteless... i don't give a flying crap
what they name the product and would never complain about it ....


what surprises me is that i haven't read any complaints about "omg
it's so offensive" yet ... cos hey some people are very sensitive and
instead of voting with their feet, think they should vote for
everyone.

I also kinda think you shot yourself in the foot to stoop to the level
of the "bored housewives" by ranting and making threats (sarcastic or
not).

But to your concern, NO, stores like Kroger (or Giant Eagle, WalMart
or Target, etc.) really shouldn't capitulate to the demands of the
loudest few, but they are truly walking a fine line. While those who
are complaining are most likely in the minority with their beliefs,
they can make enough noise and rabblerouse enough of the fencesitters
that it creates a problem. No company wants a PR headache like that!

Sadly, it won't be until one of these "well intentioned" folks gets
something they care about taken away before they finally come to
understand that the door of freedom swings both ways. You can't
demand your beliefs be upheld while trampling that of others.

& just remember, vigilante parenting is what made Tipper Gore famous
and got her hubby a primo (albeit 2nd) chair in the White House.

All this anger and getting worked up over an Ice Cream

We soon wont have it so good if we have to worry about bored
housewives throwing fits or the government sticking their noses
further up our asses. We will end up like a third world country it all
of that is allowed to rule our decision making.
Regarding the sexual organ question, I dont think it would bother me.
I just wouldnt buy it and Id probably laugh. I certainly wouldnt waste
my time gathering people to boycott an ice cream product with a tongue
in cheek name. Theres more important things for them to do like feed
the homeless! Maybe they should buy the ice cream and feed the
homeless instead of boycotting it so it doesnt end up wasted. It all
comes down to a name. Seriously are the boycotters or you going to
make their kids unfriend someone because their last name may be a name
of a sexual organ ie. Dick, Twat (yes there is a dr. here by the name
Lipp-Twat) and so on. Are you one of those people that keep their kids
sheltered and bubble wrapped until their 18 and then shove them out
into the cruel world with no real sense of how the world really is?
All this wasted time over a name of an ice cream. Its irritating when
people are so passionate about boycotting something stupid like this
when they could put that energy into causing a positive uproar in
their community but as I said earlier they are a bunch of bored
housewives whos sheltered kids will end up being drug addicts or in
some kind of criminal activity because of the shock they werent
prepared for in real world.
As for me boycotting Kroger, you thought that was stupid huh? Its
called sarcasm to show how stupid they are being because of a name!
