Please end our suffering, Maytag

Our Maytag dishwasher, model MDB8751AWW was purchased from Sears approximately 4 years ago. It has been a lemon since the day we bought it. Just in the past 30 days, I will have spent 6 half-days at home waiting for a repairman for the same problem. Most recently, Sears refuses to pre-order a new control panel (our fourth one) because the 3-year extended warranty ended 9/30/11. This is despite the fact that the buttons on the control panel installed 34 days ago will not light up nor allow any cycle to be started (Duh, I think it's pretty obvious that the control panel buttons are not working). This dishwasher was poorly made and designed from the start. Prime example that we noticed in its first week: The soap dispenser door catches on the top rack and does not fully open during the cycle. Just plain poor design, yet Maytag put it on the market anyway. I blame Maytag for sending us parts that did not work and for a poor product that has resulted in numerous repair trips. I blame your distributor Sears for a lousy service attitude and policies.
Take back this piece of junk (pay for the removal) and give me 50% of the purchase price back in cash (we did get some use out of it). This will, in part, compensate me for spending about 15 half-days at home waiting for a repairman over the past 4 years for various problems and the time it will take to purchase and install a replacement dishwasher.

Class Action Against Whirlpool (Maytag) Regarding Control Panels
I have filed a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool for their faulty control panels in their Whirlpool and Maytag dishwashers. Please contact my attorney Eppsteiner & Fiorica Attorneys, LLP at 866.548.8857 and let them know if you own or owned a dishwasher with control panel failures.

And Sears wonders why their business is going down the tubes. Between their high prices and lousy service, it's no wonder at all.

As a former Sears manager, I present this: You were presented a choice at the time of purchase to get extended coverage. My guess is you chose NOT to get that coverage. Mistake #1. ALWAYS get the coverage...and if you cancel in the first year, you get a full refund if you've not used it. If you've used it...you're already money ahead.
Second mistake...how long did you wait before you did anything? 4 years??? You needed to do something within 90 days if you chose not to get the extended service plan, or you'd be subject to ONLY the manufacturer's warrantee. Sears is not the manufacturer, therefore they should not incur your wrath for your choice to gamble on if it would run correctly for any amount of time.
I am also suspecting you may have an electrical problem pushing surges into your equipment that overleads and ruins your washer. Check that too...it does happen.
Your beef is with Maytag, not Sears since you opted not to get Sears coverage that was offered. Don't tell me it wasn't because the salespeople do earn money and recognition for selling that...and would not have sold it without strongly encouraging you to get that coverage.
So...you went to Vegas and struck out. Go get a new washer and this time get the coverage...no matter who it is from. By the way, Maytag is not a highly rated product to begin with. I buy Kenmore or I buy nothing. Also...make sure it's a Kenmore made in Germany...the salesperson can tell which are or aren't.
