Final attempt with Comcast

Posted Tue December 6, 2011 12:00 pm, by Dennis F. written to Comcast Corporation

Write a Letter to this Company  |  Rate this Company

I am writing you as per my experience with your company. I was going to write this letter as furious but at this point I am becoming indifferent to your company. I have been with Comcast for over 2 years. I have paid over $150 per month. Until recently I have just paid my bill but at this point I am done. I had a pretty good package but then a couple months ago, my bill was raised almost $100. I was on vacation in Hawaii and came back to find my service disconnected. I called and get routed directly to your collections department. I cancelled and took my equipment back. I spoke with your advanced customer care department and was convinced to stay so I went and picked up my equipment and paid my past due bill of $150 and I went home. I got a bill in the mail for over $350. I called Comcast back and the rep told me I was correct. The bill is incorrect. After numerous calls, I about gave up. Then all of our cable and internet went out in our neighborhood due to wind storms. We were down for 4 days. I called numerous times and was directly routed to the collections department every time. In that department they hassle me for money that I do not owe for a service that does not work. Finally, I got a tech out to my house on Sunday and he was there 5 minutes and said, "yep, its us and not you. We need to get a line tech which is higher than me." We already knew that. I felt handled rather than helped. The service came back on later that night. I now am watching on demand for Hawaii 50 and am being forced to watch commercials that I cant fast forward through. So I am paying $150 per month for less features and not as good of a plan as I have had for the past 2 years? This is crazy. Why am I paying you to be forced to watch commercials? I do not get that much time to watch TV lately and when I do, I just want to be left alone. Am I just a number to you? It is hard to find a customer that will consistently pay you $150 without being chased for it. All this is adding up to Comcast does not give a crap about me or my family. Comcast is Comcast and your not so just bend over and take it. I am ready to go to direct TV where I can pay 85 for everything I want to watch. I also am looking at other options for internet.

I want Comcast to quit pissing me off. I want to just be able to watch TV and pay my bill. If I do on demand, don't hold my program hostage with stupid commercials. It is hard to find a customer like me. From my perspective it is a lot easier to keep a customer than try to find a new one. Get my bill right and quit jerking me around. Give me my programming and internet and phone at a reasonable price. At this point, I feel like Charlie brown kicking the football. I fall flat on my back every time and am just done. The bottom line is I either need taken care of or I will go somewhere else and tell everyone I know how bad my experience was with Comcast. The future is up to you.

What you need to do, is call out another company and shop around once
you find something you like, unplug of comcrap's boxes from you tvs,
gather ll the controlers and take it back to the office and tell them
to close the account. Do not let them talk you into taking back their
crap to you house. The day we had AT&T U-Verse installed, that is what
we did. Comcrap did not even bother to ask us why we were closing the
account and returning their trash to them.

I really HATE HATE HATE HATE Comcrap but I have tried satalite and
every time it Rains, Snows or gets cloudy I lose my signal. I really
wish I could leave Comcrap, especially because every other day I get a
mailer to come back to their phone system.

I pay more for FIOS, and am happy to do so if only to be rid of
Comcast and their perpetual increase in fees for decrease in service.

I agree that those ads during On Demand programming are VERY
IRRITATING.

I discoverd I couldn't fast-forward through the ones for Hell's
Kitchen episodes and felt equally frustrated as this letter writer.

It's particularly vexing when you're the type of person who ads don't
work on (like me). I buy the things I like and have never been
persuaded to switch based on any ad.

I actually boycott companies that make crummy ads - or who put ones on
email accounts like Yahoo that slow down your ability to read and
delete emails until the idiotic ad has fully painted up.

So, these ads actually have the OPPOSITE effect of what the comapnies
think they are having. I end up boycotting their services or products,
using one of their competitors and then bad-mouthing the company I
boycotted to anyone who'll listen (along with putting negative
feedback up about them on numerous blogs, etc. online).

i mean i can't imagine any kind of TV so good that it's worth 150 a
month for.

unless that TV was making me sandwiches and cleaning the apartment for
me too

Comcast by us was the only choice up til about 3 years ago when Fios
came around. Up until then Comcast every year raised their prices and
offered ZERO incentives to long time customers.

When I finally dumped comcast they were up to $210.00 a month for
cable (no premium) and internet. The second Fios showed up they
started their $99.99 deal, then $89.99 deal.

They finally agreed to lowered my bill if only I stayed with them, but
after years of asking why they were so high we were more than happy to
dump them for the $120.00 FIOS.

Its funny what competition does. In my experience its the only thing
that makes comcast listen to the customer.
