You are using your most powerful voice - your pocketbook. If you do not like the show, then don't subscribe. Easy as that.
If enough people agree with you and act in the same manner, then the show will be cancelled.
Don't hold your breath, though. Most of us think Maher is incredibly funny and entertaining. WE understand satire.

If you don't like him, don't watch. If that's not enough, then cancel your subscription. There are plenty of other evangelical right wing nutjob shows on tv for you to watch...I see The Waltons is on INSP channel now. Go watch that pathetic right wing crap instead and leave an intelligent show alone. Bet you're in that same "undecided" camp on the GOP candidate but will go with any one of them (even if they're a criminal) over Obama too just because you can't stand anyone not in your own crazy camp.

"It is obvious you concur and agree with the vulgar tirade of Maher about Tim Tebow elsewise a public comment would have been made."
I totally disagree. As was pointed out already, most shows have disclaimers that the views expressed are not always those of the management.
You talk about slanted stations, can you imagine how much worse it would be if media outlets only let those on who totally agreed with them? For that matter, who would that "Them" even be? The owner? The GM? A majority of shareholders?
Freedom of speech isn't always fun, but it's SO important.

That's right! If someone on TV isn't touting the right-wing, evangelical propaganda of the wing nuts, it must be bad and removed from TV! Evil! I'm scared! Oh noes, free speech scares me.
Blech. Your morals ARE NOT THE MORALS OF EVERYBODY ELSE. Learn to live with people with different beliefs.

Personally, I think Bill Maher is a pud who says things just to get a rise out of people.
Which in your case seems to have worked to perfection.
Easy solution: don't watch his show. If the ratings become bad enough it will be cancelled and you can still watch the HBO programs you enjoy.

one that says "may not necessarily agree" etc?
I see that before many movies and tv programs... which may be why the network isn't apologizing for what their employee said.

Tebow is a brain-washed, idiotic, uneducated simpleton who believes in a flying spaghetti monster.
Maher rules. HBO better keep him on the air or liberals like myself will give them a whole crapload of trouble.

I love weighing in on Bill Maher letters!
Bill Maher is a pitiful excuse for a comedian, he is a rude, beligerrent, and intolerant man. I would not pay to see him nor would I see him if someone PAID me to!
However...
As an American citizen, he has the right to make his offensive statements, just as you have the right to write this letter. Nobody is forced to sign up for HBO, or cable for that matter. I, infact, applaud you for voting with your wallet and cancelling your subscription.
The executives at HBO keep his show on for one reason, ratings. It's sad that people are willing to pay good money to watch his show, but it's their money and their choice. Perhaps if enough people cancel, HBO might get the message and pull his show.
One thing to add though, Most large companies are not "liberal slanted", most are owned by conservatives, Ted Turner and Turner networks being a notable exception. Conservatives in general see that there is money to be made and they really dont care where it comes from.
Again, I too cannot stand Bill Maher, but I support his right as an American to speak his mind.

I spend the extra money on HBO just so I can see Real Time with Bill Maher! I can't wait until he's back to brighten up February and make light of the circus that is the GOP primary.
Besides, I really doubt Tim Tebow cares what anybody thinks or says about him. I find that most people who are truly comfortable and content in their beliefs don't care about the approval or disapproval of others.

You are very clearly passionate about your religion and moral fortitude. That's very commendable.
However, not everyone feels the same way as you and just as you don't want to be told NOT to believe or think or speak about what matters to you, neither does anyone else. Can you see why telling all your friends, family and associates to stop watching HBO based on this incident might be a little short-sighted here?
Tim Tebow, while an amazing athlete (my fiance is a HUGE Florida Gators fan and goes ON AND ON about how great he is! UGH!) but the truth be told, no one would give a fig about Tebow's "character" had he not painted a giant red bullseye on his own back by going on and on about how grateful he was that his mother opted not to have an abortion.
You know what, that kind of information is fine in private discussion. I don't need, nor do I want to know that much information about that man or his family situation. I like my football players to shut their mouths and play the game. That's what they are, in fact, paid to do - not philosophize or explain the meaning of life.
This man that you are writing off an entire network over is an ENTERTAINER. He has no skill other than mouthing off and is about as credible talking about others as Tim Tebow was as an anti-abortion advocate.
So while Bill Maher, IMHO, is an idiot and is barely credible in the entertainment sense he's presented, I know that I'm sure not going to cut off MY HBO just because one person was offended ON BEHALF OF someone else. (and I'd be willing to bet that Tim Tebow could care less what a washed-up hack like Bill Maher has to say about him! An NFL starting quarterback salary beats what Bill Maher gets from HBO any day!)
