ok, SO... Paul and I take my Mom to dinner at Golden Corral on Lindberg, He parks the car so Mom doesn't have to walk in the cold, we get in line and get to the front and I pay for My Mom, Paul and Myself, and I told her he would be right in , he was parking the car, no problem. He comes in the St.LouisCounty Cop that was security would not let him come up to meet us to be seated till he followed through the line. I spoke to the Manager and explained he parked the car, and we paid for his meal, she said"NO EXCEPTIONS, NOT IN HERE AT TIME OF PAYMENT, HE WAITS IN LINE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE"!!!!! 23 MINUTES LATER he made it to the front of the line and he got to come to the table and then we were all able to eat! NEVER WILL I GO BACK!!!!

Treat Customers like a Customer, NOT like a Prison.

This to me sounds like a policy implemented to prevent disputes over
cutting in line, or getting past the register and taking food without
paying.

It does suck, but as with so many things in life. the few mess it up
for the many.

personally i'd just be put off by the fact the establishment HAS to
have guards in the first place.

Same reason I don't ever want to go to Chuck E Cheese.

If there are so many fights and riots that you need guards then...
yeah. that's the place I want to go to eat. AFTER I obtain a
concealed carry permit perhaps. O_o

Agreed it was a bit overkill, but my guess is with a place like this,
people scam and claim "Oh, I paid for theirs already" to get two-fers
all the time.

Or, like kids did "back in the day," sneaking their friends into the
movie theater without paying.

Yes, it's sad, but I guess I find it a bit odd that in the time it
took him to drop you off and park the car, that you and your Mom
managed to get through the line and seated and THEN a throng of people
just showed up that took 23 minutes to process through the line.

Where EXACTLY did he park the car? New Mexico?

There has got to be more to this story. Why didn't you ask for a
manager or have the cashier explain that you had already paid for him?
Or show the receipt to the police officer to show that he had been
paid for?

that have security?

Personally, I'd prefer to stay away from all of them if I could help
it, but my "Very Southern" fiance' loves the darn place and so I find
myself choking down the food that wouldn't have even been acceptable
for my public school lunches just to appease him!

Oh, the things we do for the ones we love!

In fact even the local buffet - different chain - ugh. apparently
their health dept score was 69. Their followup was 97 but... BLEH.

I wonder what the GC in the next town over scored... 79 on the
routine, 81 on the followup. NEVER anything above 89 in the past 2.5
years.

doesn't say much for their establishment.

I'm with you, and I think the restaurant is totally wrong. It's not
like you were going to let him join you in the food line, ahead of
others who were already waiting to go through it.

Mike C.,

Sounds like a high volume operation [must be the chocolate fountain]
that has had problems with line jumper/scammers in the past and they
are trying to handle it.

Sad, but we all pay the price.
