Manager does not know how to respond to people who don't understand English. I made a visit to McDonald's in queens center mall the food court on February 11th 2012 at 6:15pm .. There were three lines open only and three managers .. Two male and one female manager. The lines were redicoulously packed .. As I'm waiting in Register 1, a male manager was taking a females order and flirting at the same time.. I didn't like it because while he is flirting with the customer, we all are waiting to order. The female manager was getting the food then I seen her go to the back then returned 10 mins later . While I am standing on this line, the male manager then calls te next customer to order . The customer was Chinese and couldn't speak proper English . So the male manager then says to te customer "you have to learn to speak English mam, I quite don't understand what you are saying. The customer got mad then walked off the line . Then when it was time for me to place my order, the male manager was making fun of the chinese customer and says " all these immigrants in this world and they dont kno how to speak a but of english. That as a manager is not how u talk to customers. I am goin to get the department of labor involved because I feel like the manger was very discouraging . I am myself an immigrant and I did not like his respond.
You need to hire more MATURE managers.

I'm comfused. There were three managers and they were also the only cashiers? And what are you calling flirting? There have been many times that I was talking to a male and someone accused me of flirting when I was just being nice.

it didn't say the Chinese customer didn't understand English. It said that they did not speak proper English.

Some restaurants have photo menus for people who can not read English. It would be nice if this place had one. The lady (who may have been a toutist, not an immigrant) could have pointed to what she wanted.
If I were a tourist in China, I'd have great difficulty ordering a meal in a reataurant.

Being bilingual is a bonus but not a requirement.
Now granted I've been on the other side of things where I was the person who couldn't speak the local language.
I learned to point to menus - the ones in Japan do have pictures. And I learned to have a translation book, and to learn the words of my favorite foods.

in employment. How a jackass talks to and about customers is not their concern. I hope the owner gets back with you, though, and you have the manager's name.
