Tried In Store Payment

I purchased a basketball hoop for my kids and i had cash in hand and wanted to pay for it. However, the salesman talked me into putting on the in house DICKS Sporting goods card and that would save me ten percent. So I did and then went back to pay the hoop off the next week to avoid charges and they said we don't take in store payments. I said I had not gotten a statement and want to pay now. Long story short they charged me interest and late fees because I refuse to pay their swindling rates. I paid the hoop off in full and refuse to pay all the excess charges they tried to put on me.

Drop the bogus fees and interest for something that should be able to be paid in store.

Talk about cutting off one's nose to spite one's credit report....

So you signed up for a card, swindling rates and all, to save 10% then
refused to pay? I assume you know how credit card companies make their
money?

If it was that important for you to be able to pay in store, maybe you
could have asked before you signed up for the card...er, I mean before
they "talked" you into it while you had cash in hand.

If they don't allow payments in store, then they don't. You can't just
not pay.

What happened when you DID get your statement? There should have been
no interest for the first one. And there would not have been a late
fee if you had paid the bill on time.
