I mean... they're adults. This shouldn't ever spark a temper tantrum.
(and yes i've seen reports of serious temper tantrums)
this is why I chose to be responsible and bring my ID
same reason my bf and I take turns drinking. Responsibility.

Strangely enough. I /dont/ get carded, and I'm constantly mistaken for 18.
I remember buying booze a few years ago and I was behind this other lady. Dresesd up, makeup, purse... I was in travelling clothes - sweats and a tshirt, ballcap, long hair, No makeup (I never wear makeup)
She got carded. I didnt. O.O I would have put her at my age or older too.
And for reference, I'm 31.

The Legion Liquors near me is required to card everyone coming through the door. They even carded a really old looking man once when I was there. They said that they have been having a rash of kids with fake ID's so now they card everyone regardless of how they look or who they are.
My husband came in with me, he didn't bring his wallet or anything (I was driving) and they wouldn't let him stay in the store without his ID.

The weirdest time I ever got carded was at a Landhope Farms (like a Wawa or 7-11).
I had just bought a twelve-pack of Heineken at the liquor store (which does NOT sell cigarettes) next door to the Landhope Farms.
Rather than go back to my car to drop the beer off, I just walked next door with the beer to the Landhope and entered.
I go to the counter and ask for a pack of Camels and the woman says "Can I see your ID?"
Laughing pretty hard, I fished my ID out of my wallet.
"What's so funny?" she asked me.
I wordlessly lifted the twelve-pack of beer up to her eye-level (I had placed it on the counter next to me before that).
"Oh" she said.
"No worries" I replied, still laughing.

I was behind a lady in the liquor store and when she gave the cashier her bottle of wine and Credit Card, he asked her for her id. She said "really, now you know that i'm over 21" and "I always get carded"
The cashier said "it's because your card isn't signed"
I actually snickered. I tried not to but that was very funny.

I bet this company will be happy to hear that their employees are so stringent at carding!

While I am sure you look great for your age, some places card everyone!
I was eating at an airport Fridays a couple of days ago and the tables where quite close together. A middle aged couple sat down next to use and order drinks and were not carded. A lady obviously in her late 50's or 60's sat down on the other side of us an ordered a glass of wine. For some reason the same server carded her. She seemed pretty annoyed as she was obviously over 21 and had to get up, move her luggage out so she had access to her carry-on bag where he id was.
