Crappy Customer Sevice

Safelink/Tracfone did not honor its contract. They have repeatedly called me a liar. I have spent over 5 hours and 3 days this week trying to resolve my problem. They swear they gave me my monthly 250 minutes on 28 Feb. They did not. They have cheated me, and several of my elderly friends, who are low or no income, out of minutes by charging 1.00 minutes per text when it supposed to be .30 seconds per text. They charge people who are below the poverty level 1.00 per minute to call their company to get help. The average call begins with an average 8 minute wait time, 30 minute customer service (avg. 3 holds per conversation) - so the poorest of the poor are forced to go without minutes for the month or use what little money they have to buy minutes at the high cost of .05 cents per minute, because they use, approximately, 38 minutes of their 250 minutes for each tech help. They have out-sourced their company's tech support to India (where they don't understand US culture, proper English grammar, or speak with an accent that can be understood - this also increases the length of the call and use of a customer's minutes) in a time of severe economic need by US citizens, and they continually make, ad nauseum, phony apologies for the inconvenience they cause, when in the long run they don't care what the customer is feeling or they would fix the problem. They called me a liar. I do not lie, and gladly offered to take a polygraph exam to prove that they had not provided me with the service that they said they had provided. Again I received another nauseating apology that they could not help me because I had received service (that I had not received.)

I am tired of being made to feel as though I and other customers should be grateful to companies for allowing us to do business with them and of fighting with this company and other companies that cheat the people who keep their companies in business.

I was offered 25 minutes for my inconvenience, but when I called to claim them, the representative tried to haggle with me over them. He offered me 10, then went to 15. Finally I told him that I wasn't going to haggle, give me the 25 minutes that was offered to me by his supervisor.

That started the fight over my 250 monthly minutes. They swear that I got the 250 on 28 Feb. I got the (haggled) 25 minutes on 28 Feb. As of 9:00 PM CST, I have been arguing with them since 28 Feb, 2012. Since 13 MAR 2012, I have had 20 emails between Tracfone and myself. I'm seriously angry now.

AN APOLOGY and MY 250 Minutes (oh a phone that works without turning itself off after each call might be nice, but I'm sure that would be way too much to ask. I can't even get minutes owed to me.)

I say give 9-1-1 access ONLY and I'll be HAPPY to pay for that out of
my taxes. What's next? Free Netflix?

Only certain Americans are eligible for SafeLink. Eligibility
guidelines vary by state but in general individuals qualify if they
participate in a public assistance program such as Food Stamps,
Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Temporary Assistance for
Needy Families (TANF), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
(LIHEAP), National Free School Lunch, Federal Housing/Section 8
Assistance, or if they do not receive any of these public assistance
programs, they may also qualify based on total household gross monthly
income. Customers can learn more or apply by calling 1-800-SAFELINK or
visiting www.SafeLink.com

Your exact benefits, including the number of free Minutes you will
receive, depend on the state you live in.

My health has declined to the point that I can't work anymore and I've
applied for SS disability. Keep your fingers crossed that it goes
through quickly!
