As of February 2012, Sovereign Bank has instituted a $2.50 fee for each time you use a non-Sovereign ATM. I am on disability and use an ATM several times a month. I cannot use a Sovereign ATM because the closest Sovereign Bank is about 30 block away from me. I find this fee to be a ridiculous and unfair fee, especially when it's imposed on all of us who don't live or work anywhere near a Sovereign Bank. It feels like I'm being penalized for not living near any of their branches. Did Sovereign ever consider the fact that many of their customers are like myself, with a fixed income, receiving disability and because of their disability would find it impossible to be able to walk to the nearest Sovereign Bank? The only other option is spending another $4.50 for transportation to and from the bank, which is not even an option. I urge anyone who has an account with Sovereign Bank to complain and fight against this ridiculous fee by writing letters online or by mail. I also urge them to do as I am doing as of today, looking for another bank that doesn't believe in unfairly charging their customers ridiculous fees.

REMOVE THE UNWARRANTED FEE.

Most banks have had this fee for years and years, if your just getting it consider yourself lucky. There is more work involved when you use an ATM that isnt your banks. The fee is 100% justifiable. Your lucky the bank whose ATM your using isnt charging you an additional fee on top of your banks.
