Bad Customer Service

At your Marysville, OH store today, I ordered a Fish Meal to go. I then realized it was a bit earlier in the day then I thought, and decided to sit down for a minute. The lady who took my order was now in the dinning room cleaning tables. She said, I'm sorry, I thought you ordered your meal to go. I said I did, but changed my mind. She then started yelling at me that the sales tax goes to "payroll that pays her payroll to have her job to clean the dining room" Her words, not mine. I explained I am sorry I changed my mind, but she may want to check the tax code and verify what sales tax goes towards. She continued to yell at me and I asked her to go away. She did so for about 1 minute at which point she came back and threw a dirty rag on my table and said I needed to clean it myself since "I didn't pay the sales tax that pays her payroll".
I finished my meal quickly, but I should have just left and or asked for my money back. I told the manager my story, and as I did so she continued to argue her point, also noting that the dirty rag was in fact clean, and I cheated her. The manager agreed with me I think, but I am not sure what happened after I left. I do feel like I wasted the $5.30 on lunch, and will not go back to at least that Wendy's for some time.
Also, I filed this complaint with Wendy's corporate. They promised a response in 48 hours which I did not receive.
Thanks,
Don Olson
They need to take corrective action against the employee and give me my money back.

The only difference I've ever seen between eat in and dine out is if they put the food in a bag or on a tray. Even if there is an extra tax there as some have pointed out, that is no reason for the employee to act that way. Ofcourse I dont think you deserve your money back either. As for hearing back from corporate, I filed a complaint with them about 7 years ago over bad service at a local Wendy's and was promised coupons as a way to get me to try them again. I contacted them several times over it before finally giving up. I still havent gotten anything from them nor have I eaten their food again (even when someone else is buying).

should have been fired on the spot. Who cares if she's having a bad day. That kind of attitude cannot be tolerated. Keep at it with Wendy's Corporate. It sounds like this woman is mentally unstable.

You ate the food.
You also said you felt the manager agreed with you.
Therefore I see no reason for a refund - other than the fact that you were still mad at the employee.
As for the punishment - since you already said the manager took your side, what more punishment do you want? You have to understand that you will NOT be privy to what they do to her.
Out of curiosity ... when did you tell the employee that your food was no longer to-go?
It sounds like you decided to eat in and not tell them, assuming they'd read your mind and intentions.

I grew up in PA and we go back once or twice a year to visit family. It always forget that I can't pick up a bottle of wine or six pack at the grocery store or gas station, its a pain in the butt. I don't see how having beer as a gas station is promoting alcohol sales more than any other means of selling it.
You still can't buy the "real" liquor at most grocery stores in OH, just the watered down stuff.

There is an actual State Liquor store inside most of the Giant Eagle's up here. It's literally like a little store inside the store.
You can get Patron, Cuervo, Kahlua - just about anything.
Now, 18 year old Scotch? Probly not. But most everything else you could want is there.

But money back for a meal you ate? Why?
BTW, I thought it was common knowledge that there is a tax on dine-in meals. Now that you know, you shouldn't make that mistake again.
