Cadbury Creme Eggs
Posted Sat April 7, 2012 1:07 pm, by Linda T. written to Cadbury Schweppes
Write a Letter to this Company
The diabetics of the world are totally left out a Easter. I used to 'pig-out' and 'stock-pile Cadbury Creme Eggs at Easter time -- before diabetes. Now, life is more important than chocolate, but it 'kills' me to walk past your displays each Easter.
Please can you make your product in a sugar-free version?

Sorry most of these people can't just respond to the content of your letter. I didn't see where you were asking anyone's opinion of your diet.
I personally haven't seen any sugar-free Cadbury Eggs, either. Maybe Russell Stover has a similar sugar-free product, and you can get those anywhere.

It's just not under the "Cadbury" label - it's under the Ernest Jackson "Special Recipe" label.
I don't know if they make creme eggs though.
Or you can consider buying the other brands of chocolates that are also marketed for diabetics.
Or you can even make your own!

that this about the politest and most honest request Ive seen in a long while.
But here's the thing. You HAVE to take responsibility for your health and your diet and just making "sugar free" versions of things you can no longer eat isn't always the answer.
It's not "killing" you to pass the display, but trying to eat those things when your body is telling you it's not a good idea just might!
I could sit here and cast stones about the "pigging out" comment and admonish you that this is how you ended up in this way. But you already know that.
I'd try to find something else to "fill that void." A piece of chocolate (and honestly, not even that GOOD a piece of chocolate at that!) is SO not worth further damaging your health.

That doesn't seem too bad. Especially compared to the 28g of carbs.

in the first place!
Your diet might truly "kill" you if you can't make some changes.

Do you realize that sugar-free candy leads to diarrhea, and one must limit one's intake of sugar-free candy to no more than six small pieces per day? I bet one of those cadbury eggs is worth more than six pieces on a sugar-per-serving basis.
Also, you obviously have Type II diabetes. Perhaps sugar-free candy isn't the answer.
