This was the worst experience I've had in a hotel! And in such a tourist location! It was shocking! When I walked into my room, there was a dirty towel on the back of the bathroom door. The room stunk, the bathroom smelled like mildew. The faucet shot water all over my son and myself. (Simple piece of hardware would fix!) We used the pool that night and while the water was nice and warm, there was garbage floating in it. That night my dad (who also got a room here) noticed that the lamp didn't work and there were exposed wires. He told them that it was a fire hazard and no one did anything. I tried to use the computer that night to see about tickets but there was no printer so it was useless. Around ten pm that night my dad's TV channels were no longer working and there were just a few stupid channels. I went to my room to check and mine worked fine (two different brands of older TV so I'm guessing it had to to with HD?)
That night my parents and I got NO sleep! People cussing by the front desk, drunk seedy dirty people running around. Then the next day we left exhausted to spend the day in the Dells. When we returned my room had not been cleaned at all. I didn't have the sign on the door or anything. It hadn't been touched! I called the front desk gal (girl with piercings in her face) to tell her and she said "Let me check to see what happened." A few minutes later she says, "Oh, yeah, looks like he just missed that one." So I said, "Well I'm at least going to need some new towels!" She informed me that I could come down to the desk and she would give me some! So I did and I got two towels. Thanks. And of course my dad's lamp wasn't touched. That night, no sleep again because of people coming in and out and the ice machine suddenly making a LOUD buzzing sound. Oh, and did I mention the people that were going in and out of the side door were doing so without keys because the key reader didn't work? Yes, there was easy access at all hours so I was a little nervous to sleep anyway. It was a total and utter nightmare. Also, while I was at the front desk the first night, three trashy young girls with faces full of piercings and fast food bags in tow came up to the front desk and said they were here to swim and they were "Joe's girlfriend" so the front desk girl called someone and said that yes they could swim. Then the next night while I was in the pool, a girl came in and didn't even stop at the front desk, just walked into the pool area and into one of the tanning bed rooms, used the tanning bed and then left. And of course there was no reader on the door to the pool either. If there was, it didn't work. The front desk people along with all of the cleaning guys I saw were grungy and scary!
I would like to see Day's Inn management do an inspection of this hotel and clean house! Literally and Figuratively!! This is a hotel that gets a LOT of business, or could, since it is in a prime location in a prime travel spot! I don't understand why Day's Inn wouldn't want to make this a hotel to be proud of instead of letting it tarnish any reputation they may have. It wouldn't take much to make this a clean, family friendly hotel. Thanks for your time.
