why is allstate screwing me

Posted Tue April 10, 2012 9:43 pm, by anita b. written to Allstate Insurance

Write a Letter to this Company

I have receive a letter from Your complaint (allstate auto insurance) saying that the my policy has been changed and my premium has gone up $518 and my new payment will now be $240 dollars monthly but I will have to pay $733 for the month of April, which I'm being charge two months charges. The reason being that they did not charge me for the previous month. But that only adds up to 233.26. My problem is that my original bill was $133.13 per month. They are saying the reason is that my grand son has been added to the insurance even though I never requested it or approved it. I have called you customer support but they make me out to be a lier, They tell me they will call me back but I never hear back from them and when I ask to speak to a supervisor, his respose to my complaints are ,"so and so would not say that or do that."One agent went so far as to say that my grandson had to sign a waiver that he would not drive my vehicle.Your company has caused me extreme stress which I cannot handle. I think I will have to find a new insurance company.

I would like my rate to be lowered back down to the original rate I had which is $133.13 per month. This is completely unfair and I will let my bank know not to authorize payments until this is figured out. I have been a loyal customer and made my payments on time.

Ask your grandson if he added himself. All he would need is your name
and his information to add himself to the policy.

Also,
Ask your Allstate Rep about the "Good Student" discount and "Resident
Student" discount. If the premium is too much, maybe your grandson
shouldn't be driving.

If he needs to drive, then he should have a job and pay for at least
some of his insurance.

Is your grandson living with you or does his license list your
address? If so, he can be automatically added to your policy. We had
the same thing happen because my stepdaughter's license shows our
address even though she does not live here full time. Geico
automatically raised our rates due to having an inexperienced driver
living with us. The DMV automatically notified them when she got her
license. There is nothing we can do about it unless she changes the
address on her license.

If the above is the reason your rate went up you will get high quotes
from any insurance company.

Find a new insurance company and report Allstate to your state
insurance regulators. If they did in fact add your grandson without
your consent then they could be in trouble.

I'm just surprised you paying that much for car insurance in the first
place.

I'd suggest shopping around to see what else is available.
