Problem with LG Dishwasher

To Whom It May Concern:

I purchased my LG Dishwasher from the Home Depot in May, 2011. It was delievered and installed by The Home Depot.

It is less than 1 year old, and today I called LG Customer Care for the 3rd time regarding the same issue. Each time a technician comes out to repair the machine, a few months later the issue starts up again.

The power button is on the top, right side of the machine. This is the 3rd time that the control panel has cracked in the same location. The crack starts out very small, and over time, likely from opening and closing the door, the crack becomes larger and larger until the power button becomes loose. Technicians have come and replaced the control panel twice, so the problem cannot be the control panel. There is a problem with the construction of the dishwasher, possibly a defect with the entire door.

It is obvious to me that this dishwasher is a lemon. This is very disappointing being that the dishwasher cost approximately $700.

It is difficult for me to take time off from work for a 3rd time for this issue, which has yet to be properly resolved. Additionally, we are coming to the end of the warranty period next month. Being that the dishwasher is defective, I would like some sort of acceptable remedy to the problem, before the warranty expires and this issue becomes not just an annoyance, but an added expense. I should not be having so much trouble with a brand new appliance. At this point, a 3rd replacement of the control panel is not going to be an acceptable fix for the problem. I would like the entire door or the entire machine to be replaced to ensure that this problem does not persist a 4th time. Please make good on this issue. In the past 5 years I have purchased an LG Refrigerator, and LG Washer and Dryer. I am a repeat buyer and would like you to stand by your product.

Im so sorry you had this problem. As I also found out myself that LG
makes lower end dishwashers for the price you had paid and do NOT keep
the same quality standards (if any) as their "higher end models"
....LG's factories are made outside of the U.S. ....Sometimes these
outside countries outsource thee manufacturing / engineering to
smaller less productive Asain countrys.

UPDATE! They sent someone to inspect the dishwasher. He noted the HOme
Depot installed incorrectly, so HD sent someone out again. They
uninstalled and reinstalled correctly - hoping that nothing happens
further!

Unfortunately due to finances replacement is not an option so I will
keep on emailing calling etc until I get an acceptable solution.

It can't hurt. Put everything in the letter and see what happens. I
still say you'd be best off ditching the thing, but if that's not
possible it might also be a good idea to contact one of those watchdog
reporters at a local TV station.
