I have Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007.
My computer has crashed and it will not let me reinstall it.

I have emailed support and received this generic email.

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Customer Service.

A Product Key is the 25-character string used to unlock software during installation and can be located at the following places:
- Sticker on the bottom of a laptop or side of a PC (Windows only).
- Sticker on shrink wrapped disk package.
- Printed on product documentation.
- Orange or yellow sticker on CD case.

If you need a replacement product key and your Microsoft software came preinstalled, please contact your Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). A list of most OEMs can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/?LN=en-us&scid=gp%3Ben-us%3Boemphone&x=17&y=8, or by searching the Web using the manufacturers' exact name.

If you need a replacement product key and you purchased your software separately please contact Microsoft Technical Support at 1-800-Microsoft (800-642-7676). Representatives are available Monday through Friday from 5:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Pacific time and Saturday or Sunday from 6:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Pacific time.

Please note this is an unmonitored alias. If you have further questions for customer service please contact us by Email: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus/emailcontact.aspx?scid=sw;en;1208&ws=pkeyautoreply

Thank you,
Microsoft Customer Service

i would suggest having someone else look at it as well to make sure
it's the right code

or ask the store for help.

since the tech has no way to validate that you purchased a legal copy
of office there's no way he will give you a keycode

This wouldnt be the first time someone bought a product from someplace
and the product code doesnt work. Some places will sell the same code
multiple times.

I would bring it back to where you bought it and demand they fix it.
