Bad and getting worse.

Posted Wed May 9, 2012 8:03 pm, by Joseph W. H. written to Kroger

Write a Letter to this Company

Dear Mr. Dillon,
Normally I don’t take the time to find and write to CEO’s such as yourself but in this case I thought you should know.
Your store number 5995 is without a doubt the most hostile I have ever experienced. These are the reasons to support my statement.
1: I have made simple requests for food items at Kroger. Farmland bacon upc code 7024712309, it’s a good company but the Kroger people won’t even take their calls. Geridelli chocolate powder for baking, You carry other Geridelli products, Why not this one? again Kroger here won’t listen instead , I get form letters and to prove it I sent a letter that listed my name as Farthead and they responded with dear Mr. Farthead and an identical form letter. I pointed this out to your manager at that store and was completely ignored. The ice company you use sells 8,7,and 6 lb bags of ice for the price of a 10 lb bag and when I showed it to the manager he simply locked the machine till I left. I returned a few minutes later to check and confirmed my suspicions. I pointed out the organic milk was 2 dollars higher than your other store and nothing is done. And your greeter is without a doubt the fastest speaking Ebonics greeter. I can’t understand a word she says but she barks it out just the same. It’s an insult rather than a greeting. My best spelling of the greeting would be this “gadatanao akata kaga.”
At this point I would be happy with the Farmland bacon upc 7024712309, the company has shipped to Schnucks here and would be happy to ship to your stores. I know, I have talked with them. Their product is a superior product along with Geridelli. Also sir We live only a few hours from the finest oysters in the world in the gulf. Every restaurant in town and all the other grocery chains carry Joey Company or Amite oysters from the Gulf of Mexico. Why won’t your stores carry them here? Instead they ship sour Washington state oysters that are par frozen from the trucks and aren't fresh. I have also tried to use your advertisements to buy cards and get 4 times the points only to be told no only 2 times the points which is in direct contradiction to your television advertisement.
I hope this letter will help you see the problems with your personell and their lack of follow through
Sincerely,
Joseph W.
I would love to see the manager and staff live up to the multimillion dollar make over of this store and show the costomers a lot more respect.

Making fun of the poor Ebonics speaking store greeter...how do you
know they're not special needs or something? Shame on you, Farthead.

I'm shocked that you don't have a Kroger within a half mile of another
like we do here (Virgina)...and yes you can go to one Kroger and get
something cheaper than the next...and it has everything to do with
location.

Example, and this isn't Kroger it's Food Lion...it's located right
next to the projects, yes where everyone uses their EBT cards and food
stamps...and they charge I would estimate close to 25% and 35% more
than anywhere else for food items in this town. You guessed it,
because it's Goverment money, most of these people have no means of
transportation and honestly don't care how much they pay because it's
convenient and...it's free! But it's not free for us is it?

Okay okay I know what you're thinking...go write my own darn letter.

Go to another store to find that product then. Or just buy another
brand. There's no law that says you have to shop at Kroger. Also many
national chain stores carry the same stock regardless of where the
store is located.

Why on earth did you contact the CEO of Kroger about this? Exactly
what do you expect the CEO of Kroger to do?

OMG! I would have fallen over laughing my head off!!! Best. Letter.
EVER!!!!!

I hate to tell you, but as others pointed out, just because one makes
a request does not mean that the company needs to oblige it. There
could be any number of reasons why they opt to not carry these items -
availability to keep items in stock from distributors, possible
competitive restrictions, regional interest in the products, etc..

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but it's the reality. You
might try ordering the items online. Dd you know that you can even
order grocery type supplies from Amazon and I'm sure from many other
online outlets and they deliver them TO YOUR DOOR?

Now, I'm not promising that your specific items will be included here,
but it's worth a shot. Or better yet, contact the manufacturer of
these items and see if they can get you in contact with outlets that
may be able to supply the items you'd like.

The Internet is an amazing place and with a little digging, you'd be
stunned at what you can find!

Just because 1 person asks them to carry a product doesn't mean they
should carry the product. Putting a new product on the shelf means
taking off something that they already know is selling. If they get a
lot of requests for an item, they might take some action.

Most likely the individual store can't do anything about what they
carry. I know we can't and I've worked for the same large grocery
chain for the last 23 years (pretty compareable to Kroger)

It's all corporate. We get these things called SCHEMATICS that we have
to follow...we can't just order whatever the heck we feel like. We
actually need the ORDER CODE that comes from the SCHEMATIC. You can
punch in random UPC's all you want but if it's not on the schematic,
it says ITEM NOT FOUND.

Also store prices vary. Just because something at one store is one
price, doesn't mean the same store down the street or across town will
be the same. The store I work at and the store I live closest too
(same chain) always have diffent prices on stuff. Sale prices are the
same but regular prices can be very different.
