Poor Service At Snappers

Posted Tue May 29, 2012 12:00 pm, by Melisa H. written to Snapper's Restaurant

1st they messed up our orders. 2nd the food was cold. Unable to find the server, we located the manager behind the bar. We explained our concerns at which point he directed us back to the server. After stating that he was unavailable, the manager looked at my plate and accused us of eating food that we complained about. However, I explained that I hadn't ordered what he thought I had. At that point the manager took the plate and as I was walking behind him, he approached me and directed me & my family to leave the restaurant. I asked for the owners name and he refused.

Due to the humiliation that my family and I suffered, I am requesting a full refund.

Is this a restaurant that you pay for your food first? Because the
story is missing some detail. Regardless the customer is always right.
And obviously you wouldnt be complaining if it wasnt a horrible
experience.

The problem you're going to face now is that... now that you've
already left it will be hard to prove your story.

It's always harder to complain about a restaurant after you've left.
If the food is already eaten then it's hard to tell if it was bad.
And in your case you say you didn't eat it but it's hard to prove that
now that it's over & done with.

I see you say that the owner agreed with the manager. that can
happen. owners aren't obliged to agree with complaints.

if you still want your money back... you may want to consider paying a
lawyer to press your case.

but as others have said, it's something best done right then and
there.

cos yes, you say you didn't want to be embarrass your family but... if
you're already being kicked out the damage is done. might as well
stand your ground on the bill if they are trying to charge you for
food they won't let you eat

I may be missing something but why did you pay for food that you did
not order? Are you saying you paid for full meals you didn't order
that were left on the table because you were asked to leave the
restaurant for daring to complain? If it came to that I would have
walked out but NOT paid for something I didn't order or want.

The manager had no idea that I had substituted on my platter. He just
assumed I had eaten the food on my plate. He was rude about the entire
thing.
I have since found out that this restaurant is known for poor service.

When exactly did you pay for this meal you want refunded? Sounds like
the meal was never finished.

Did you eat it?

It doesn't matter if you ordered what he thought you did... did you or
did you not eat the food you were presented with?

following him? This story seems to be missing some details. But a
manager should never direct you back to a server (unless this was an
episode of Undercover Boss, and the "server" was really the CEO).
