Is this a restaurant that you pay for your food first? Because the story is missing some detail. Regardless the customer is always right. And obviously you wouldnt be complaining if it wasnt a horrible experience.

Many people get use to being able to go to the next person up the food-chain. So when they get the actual owner... they're not use to the idea that there IS no one else.
And unless you can actually cite a law that they broke your lawyer buddy can't do jack squat for you.
And so far you haven't listen any laws they broke other than hurting your feelings. Sure they "charged you for food you didn't eat" but you agreed to pay it.
So that's where your lawyer friend will likely say "sorry".
But again, i'd like to know what he says.

OK, well, there's your answer right there - they don't care. Sad to say, there are some companies that just don't care, no matter how bad the economy is or how many other options consumers have at their disposal.
Truthfully, as Pep said repeatedly, you can say you have your attorney friend (and honestly, I don't see any lawyer offering up a significant amount of time on a case like this that they apparently WON'T be paid on.)advise you, but you still can't Make someone do what they don't want to do.
There comes a point when you should really just cut your losses, write them off and move on.

I may be missing something but why did you pay for food that you did not order? Are you saying you paid for full meals you didn't order that were left on the table because you were asked to leave the restaurant for daring to complain? If it came to that I would have walked out but NOT paid for something I didn't order or want.

Did you eat all of your food and then realized that it wasn't what you ordered? How did that happen? You said that the manager said that you 'complained about the food that you already ate'
Did you?

Did you eat it?
It doesn't matter if you ordered what he thought you did... did you or did you not eat the food you were presented with?

following him? This story seems to be missing some details. But a manager should never direct you back to a server (unless this was an episode of Undercover Boss, and the "server" was really the CEO).
