Replace Motorized Shopping Carts for the Disabled and Handicapped Shoppers

Posted Thu June 7, 2012 7:29 pm, by Karil W. written to Walmart Supercenter

I'm Disabled and have MS This Walmart Store never has any working Motorized Shopping Carts their either broken or not charged or dont hold a charged,Yesterday I waited for 25 minutes for a motorized shopping cart to become available so I could pick-up my prescriptions at the pharmacy but the cart was out of power as usual, the motorized carts they have are in poor condition and only run for a short time lots of time you can't even finish your shopping before it runs out of power, after 25 minutes of waiting for nothing I left to go shopping at Super Target they always have working motorized Shopping carts, I don't understand that a company as big as you cant supply motorized shopping carts in working order for the Disabled and Handicapped this is getting really ridiculous this happens eveytime I try to shop at Walmart, My time is important what time I have left it would be nice if you would replace these defective motorized carts I've complained several times to the managers in the past 6 months but nothing ever gets fixed, I prefer to shop at Walmart but if this problems doesn't get fixed I have no choice other than to start shopping somewhere else, I still havent been able to pick up my medications because I can't walk in the store,Please fix this problem so the disable can enjoy shopping at walmart too!

Replace all Motorized Shopping carts for the Disabled and Handicapped this store really need at least 10 carts for the volume of customers at this store Were important too! Make sure employee take the time to make sure there fully charged.

Stores are not required to have motorized carts available. They do so
as a courtesy. It costs money to repair and maintain them, none of
which is comped by the consumer. I've seen first hand the abuse these
carts take by the cutomers and it aint pretty.

If you are really TAHT dependant on a cart to get you around, it's
time to invest in your own and quit expecting everyone else to
accomodate you. You will be better off anyways, those carts are nasty.

Although I do agree if they have the carts they should work you should
understand that the carts are a courtest and not a requirement. If
you must have one consider getting one of your own. If not, take all
your business, including pharmacy, to Target.

I think you can blame all the morbidly obese people who use them. The
batteries can't possibly last long pushing 400 pounds around a store.
