KFC ad/Sandusky rape trial

With the Sandusky child rape trial hanging in the air, I find your latest commercial (with the older man who vaguely resembles Sandusky, wrestling with a young boy over dinner) to be particularly disturbing....especially since part of Sandusky's grooming technique, was to wrestle with young boys before he raped them repeatedly.

I cannot fathom why you would think that this was a good idea. Are you even aware of the Sandusky trial...what with it being displayed on every tv news channel across the US?

Every time I see that commercial, I think of Sandusky, and now every time I think of your chicken, I think of what Sandusky did. I cannot eat your chicken anymore, because of this association.

Please end this disturbing commercial.

Just the fact that the kid is arguing to the degree of fisticuffs with
a kid and his old dad or grandpa is disturbing enough, then you add
the Sandusky resemblence, which I didn't really think of. And no,
they probably haven't heard about Jerry Sandusky. I think people
under 35 don't think it's cool to listen or watch the news. They're
too busy watching things on youtube, and texting each other--you know
the important stuff in life!

Dodgy commercial or not, KFC chicken should not be eaten anyway.

I quit KFC nearly 10 years ago, but I did so over their documented
unnecessary cruelty to chickens at their processing plants. Not
because of some weird commercial that makes me think of a child
rapist.

I didnt see it but im sure a large franchise such as kfc wasnt
thinking of that when they made the commercial.

It's a cute commercial about a robust grandfather arguing with his grandson about which sides they're having for dinner by PepperElf Thu July 5, 2012 @ 6:52 AM

I didn't think it was dirty at all, until you made it dirty.

Why do you even have to "go there".

Trying to turn it into something else benefits no one.

Ya. A cigar is just a cigar unless it's Clinton's cigar and you're the new intern... (bleh!) n/t by PepperElf Wed July 11, 2012 @ 12:32 PM

Most likely this commercial was filmed long before the trial. Like
the others though I dont see a resemblence.

I think your making alot out of nothing.

I'm reminded of the "free credit report" pirate commercial by PepperElf Wed July 11, 2012 @ 12:33 PM

I really don't see the resemblance. I think the older guy looks like
Jerry Van Dyke. I seriously doubt that KFC would try to do something
like this. If you don't like the commercial, there is always the
option to change the channel or just turn off the tv until it's done.
No one is forcing you to watch it.

I personally don't see the the resemblance. Plenty of old guys wrestle
with their grandkids, too, and they aren't pedophiles. The commercial
is only disturbing if you use a lot of mental filters.
